đ˛The Real Yellowstone Discovery Expedition: A Summer Retreat for Women (July 12-17, 2026)
Experience Yellowstone in full summerâwhen long daylight lingers over the mountains, wildflowers brighten the meadows, rivers still run strong, and the park feels alive with movement, color, and sound. This 6-day, women-only retreat invites you to discover âthe real Yellowstoneâ through story, scenery, and sisterhood, with a thoughtfully paced itinerary designed for wonder without overwhelm.
Weâll travel from Bozeman through Paradise Valley to our cozy base near Gardiner, exploring thermal terraces, geyser basins, dramatic overlooks, wildlife corridors, and the quiet corners that make Yellowstone feel personal. A full-day adventure to Cody layers in Western history and art, with time at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, sweeping mountain roads, and a classic Main Street dinner.
Each day blends guided experiences with space to breathe: picnic lunches, scenic drives, short walks, flexible boardwalk options, a morning wagon ride, a rejuvenating evening soak at Yellowstone Hot Springs, and evenings gathered over hearty meals and easy conversation. Youâll be invited to slow down, listen to the landscape, and share the journey with a small circle of women who are here for more than just a checklist of sights.
âď¸ Seasonal Flexibility â Mid-Summer in Yellowstone
July in Yellowstone brings long daylight hours and generally warmer, drier conditionsâbut itâs still a wild, high-elevation landscape. Afternoon thunderstorms, wildlife activity, and ongoing roadwork can all influence whatâs possible on a given day. We may adjust the order of days, swap specific stops, or shorten/lengthen hikes to keep things safe, comfortable, and aligned with the spirit of the trip.
No matter the weather or trail conditions, our priority is the same: meaningful, memory-filled days with a thoughtful balance of views, stories, movement, and rest.
Unless otherwise noted, all meals, national park entrance fees, guided experiences, and local transportation are included. Alcohol and market-price add-ons are not included.
LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE. This retreat is designed for women seeking connection, awe, and the ease of being guided through Yellowstoneâtogether.

Weâll begin with a relaxed late lunch at The Murray Bar & Grill in historic Livingston, then continue through Paradise Valley, where the mountains rise around us and the Yellowstone River winds alongside the road. Guests meeting us in Livingston should arrive by 2:15 PM, and guests driving directly to Gardiner should plan to arrive by 4:00 PM.
Once weâre all together, weâll check in at Yellowstone Village Inn, settle in, and ease into a laid-back welcome evening. Weâll travel into the park for our first glimpse of Yellowstone, then return for dinner in Gardiner, introductions, an official orientation, and a beautiful dessert board back at the hotel.
Weâll start the morning with a self-serve breakfast at the hotel before heading out a bit earlier to make the most of the long July daylight. Today is a full but surprisingly relaxing road day through Yellowstoneâs northern range, with wide-open valleys, winding rivers, wildlife-watching country, and plenty of time for scenic stops.
By late morning, weâll pause for a picnic lunch somewhere beautiful before continuing east onto the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, one of the most stunning drives in the Rockies. Along the way, weâll stop at Sunlight Creek Bridge and Dead Indian Pass Overlook, where the views open wide and the history of this rugged route comes into focus.
In Cody, Wyoming, weâll enjoy an easygoing afternoon with time at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, plus optional stops depending on timing and group interests. Dinner will be at Proud Cut Saloon, a rustic Western favorite with a relaxed saloon-style setting. After dinner, weâll return toward Yellowstone via the East Entrance, making scenic stops along the way and watching for the moon over Yellowstone Lake, weather permitting.
This is a big Western views kind of day: scenic roads, storytelling, snacks, and plenty of windshield time that feels just right after arrival day.
This morning begins with a self-serve breakfast at the hotel before we head into Yellowstone for a full but intentionally unhurried day. At 9:00 AM, weâll step into the historic West with a horse-drawn wagon ride through Pleasant Valley, taking in mountain views, fresh air, and a slower glimpse into Yellowstoneâs ranching and stagecoach history.
After the wagon ride, weâll continue through Yellowstoneâs northern interior, beginning with the dramatic canyon views at Calcite Springs Overlook before continuing to nearby Tower Fall. From there, weâll climb over Dunraven Pass, where the road opens into sweeping mountain views and alpine beauty.
Weâll pause for a picnic-style lunch along the way, then continue toward Norris Geyser Basin, one of Yellowstoneâs most dynamic geothermal areas. There, weâll stretch our legs on the boardwalks and take in steaming vents, colorful pools, and the wild, shifting energy of the parkâs interior.
As the day winds down, weâll return to Gardiner for dinner, then settle into an evening soak at Yellowstone Hot Springs â warm mineral water, mountain air, and space to let the day land. Refreshed, weâll return to the hotel with time for journaling, conversation, or simple rest.
Weâll start early with a self-serve breakfast at the hotel so we can be on the road in good time. Some days are intentionally early so we can experience the park as the sun comes up and the crowds are a little less intense.
Our first major stop is Grand Prismatic Spring in the Midway Geyser Basin, one of Yellowstoneâs most iconic sights. Its vivid bands of color shimmer through the steam, and walking options will be tailored to the group and current conditions so we can enjoy it without feeling rushed.
From there, weâll continue toward Old Faithful, checking the predicted eruption time when we arrive so we can plan lunch accordingly. Lunch may be at the historic Old Faithful Inn, if available, or one of the nearby food-court options, timed so we can watch an eruption from the boardwalk or lodge area.
Weâll also visit Lower Geyser Basin for a walk at Fountain Paint Pots, then travel back north through the Firehole River corridor, pausing at interpretive storytelling sites such as Mattie Culverâs Gravesite, the Nez Perce Trail Marker, and the Queenâs Laundry Site. As we continue north, weâll stop at Gibbon Falls before stretching our legs one last time at Artist Paint Pots.
Weâll return to Gardiner for dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner, those who wish may re-enter the park for an evening visit to Mammoth Hot Springs, where the terraces can glow beautifully in the low-angle light of sunset. On the way back through Gardiner, weâll wrap things up with a little gift shop browsing and an ice cream stop, a simple Expedition Sisterhood tradition.
After a self-serve breakfast at the hotel, weâll head straight to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone for one of the most dramatic mornings of the trip. Weâll visit several of the canyonâs most iconic viewpoints, including the Brink of the Upper Falls, a viewpoint overlooking the Brink of the Lower Falls, and the classic vista from Artist Point.
From there, weâll continue south through Hayden Valley, one of Yellowstoneâs premier wildlife corridors. Weâll keep a careful eye out for wolves, grizzlies, bison, elk, and migrating birdlife as we travel through this wide, open landscape.
Our route continues all the way to West Thumb Geyser Basin on the shores of Yellowstone Lake, where hot springs and geysers sit right beside the water and boardwalk views stretch across the lake. On the way back north, weâll stop near Fishing Bridge, visit the Mud Volcano area for an optional short boardwalk loop, and make additional North Rim stops as time and group energy allow.
On the return drive, weâll pause at Obsidian Cliff and enjoy a short walk along Sheepeater Cliffs, where columnar basalt formations connect us to the landscape and the history of the Mountain Shoshone, also known as the Tukadika people.
Weâll return to Gardiner for dinner at a locally owned Montana restaurant, then wind down back at the hotel with evening tea, cocoa, and optional reflection time â a gentle close to our final full day in the park.
Weâll enjoy a final slow morning at the hotel as we pack up, load the vehicle, and take group photos before departure. Then weâll drive back to Bozeman and gather for a farewell brunch at Western CafĂŠ, a beloved local spot known for hearty, no-frills Montana comfort food.
Christine will begin airport drop-offs to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) late in the morning. Please schedule departing flights for 12:00 PM or later. Guests with earlier flights may arrange a separate transfer, and additional costs may apply.
Christine will provide airport support and trip services until 2:00 PM. Guests riding back to Butte, Helena, or Missoula will depart with Christine at 2:00 PM. For those with later flights, optional time in Bozeman may include a visit to the Museum of the Rockies or self-guided exploration downtown, not included in the trip cost.
