Sri Lanka. Ceylon. Serendip. For more than two millennia, this emerald isle—poised delicately between India and Southeast Asia in the Indian Ocean—has answered to many names. Yet none feels more fitting than Sri Lanka, the name it has borne since the 1970s: Sri, meaning resplendent, and Lanka, the Sinhalese word for island.
We have taken hundreds of adventurers around the island over the years and they loved it. But how to make it better? What if we only stayed in the best suites and villas at the absolute best hotels in the country? What if we dined at the best restaurants Sri Lanka has to offer? How about two days at each of these magnificent properties to soak in the beauty, soak in the pool or enjoy a spa day? How about some of the most exclusive cultural experiences imaginable? An extra luxury support vehicle for non-riding special people in your life?
This is the new UltraLux Experience. Adventure combined with the highest level of service and luxury available.
Of course, at the centre of it all is the adventure. Beyond the postcard beauty, the rich cultural tapestry, the exquisite cuisine, and the languid, sun-drenched beaches lies Sri Lanka’s greatest gift — its roads. Immaculately kept ribbons of tarmac unfurl through national parks, tea-cloaked highlands, and misty mountain jungles.
UltraLux Expeditions elevate the experience into the uppermost realm of adventure motorcycling.

Your destination is Colombo
Your Sri Lankan adventure starts in Paradise. Surrounded by seven acres of tropical greenery, The 18 room Wallawwa Colombo offers a peaceful haven to relax and recharge. Spend your days by the jungle-lined pool, enjoy leisurely alfresco dining, and revive your senses with a soothing spa treatment as travel weariness melts away. A day reserved to explore this pristine city on the Indian Ocean includes a guided tuk tuk tour, visit to a park and the local food markets. After an afternoon of chill time, we’ll meet for an orientation session and a group meal.
Today we leave the Indian Ocean views for the interior of the island. The road to Sigiriya is filled with winding lanes through palm plantations and jungle as we
gradually increase our elevation. The route takes us through a wildlife sanctuary where wild elephants grazing on the roadside is not a rare occurrence. Our
destination is one of the most famous sites in Sri Lanka: the 300 meter high Lion’s Rock.
Here will enjoy the splendor of your villa at the magnificent Water Garden Sigiriya for 2 days.
Sometimes, the journey is incredible, but the destination is sublime. The W15 Hanthana Estate is one such destination. The estate is set in the mountainous interior of the island, surrounded by verdant hillsides and tea plantations. aesthetically, it’s as pure an example of colonial-style elegance as you’re likely to experience. After parking our bikes and being greeted by the wonderful staff, we check into our suites and stand in awe of the view of endless rows of tea plant in the valley below.
Most of our clients comment that this segment of our ride is not only their best day motorcycling in Sri Lanka, but the best they’ve ever experienced anywhere on Earth. A single, newly paved track sinuously carves its way through kilometres of tea plantations, with the rolling greens creating saturated colours our cameras have difficulty in rendering.
Our rest for the next two days is the 98 Acres Resort & Spa, a tranquil boutique retreat set amidst the rolling hills of a scenic tea estate in Ella. With 46 elegantly crafted chalets overlooking panoramic views of misty mountains and lush plantations, the resort stands out among Ella hotels inviting guests to unwind in nature’s embrace.
Over the next two days, our experience takes a turn for the wild. We will sojourn at the UNESCO Design Award–winning Wild Coast Tented Lodge, a striking luxury retreat discreetly set between the untamed jungles of Yala National Park and the vast Indian Ocean. Deep within this natural landscape, 28 Cocoon-style tents are thoughtfully positioned around natural watering holes, just steps from a dramatic, secluded shoreline. At Wild Coast Tented Lodge, expert rangers will lead you into the heart of the wilderness, offering immersive experiences within Yala National Park.
Our last stop of our adventure is the Jewel in the Crown of Sri Lanka: the UNESCO World Heritage City of Galle. Founded by the Portuguese in the 16th century, the walled fort is surrounded by the Indian Ocean on three sides and is a beautiful place to stroll along the ramparts of the cobbled lanes at the town’s core.
paradise for our final nights is the gorgeous Galle Bazaar. Formerly a spice merchant’s home, this 18-room boutique hotel and spa has been lovingly restored to honour the Fort’s rich history and vibrant culture. As the sun sets over the Fort, unwind by the swimming pool before dining at the stylish in-house restaurant and bar.
An easy stride along the coastline brings us full circle back to the capitol. We meander through coastal villages and rustic resort towns and arrive back in Colombo in time for Happy Hour and a final group meal at one of the capital's best restaurants. You’ll have a final night at a suite in the newest, most luxurious hotels in the city: The ITC Ratnapida.
Here, with a cocktail in hand and a magnificent view of the Indian Ocean, we'll celebrate the conclusion of one of the most exclusive motorcycling adventures on Earth.
After indulging on one of the most enticing breakfasts imaginable, we'll prepare for our departure. After checkout and our final goodbyes, luxury transport will whisk you to the airport for your journey home.
