Sankofa&nbsp;(pronounced SAHN-koh-fah) is a word from the Twi language of Ghana that means&nbsp;“to retrieve”&nbsp;or&nbsp;“go back and get it.”&nbsp;It embodies the idea of looking to the past to inform the future, emphasizing the importance of learning from history. The term is often associated with a proverb that states,&nbsp;“It is not taboo to go back for what you forgot”. Sankofa is also represented by a symbol, often depicted as a bird with its head turned backward, symbolizing the act of reaching back to gather knowledge and wisdom.Sankofa is a line dance event you have to EXPERIENCE and it has Never Disappointed.

Houston has two major airports. The host hotel is closer to Hobby (HOU) than (IAH).Renting a car or using Lyft or Uber will be necessary.A link to reserve your room will be provided to registrants.The hotel block is available from 9/3 to 9/7 for line dance family who arrive early or stay late.
