I'm excited to invite you back for the second year of our kora retreat in the beautiful French countryside—this time for a full 6-night stay, by popular request!
Take a proper break from the daily hustle and settle into a week of focused, joyful music-making. Whether you're picking up the kora for the first time or you've been playing for years, this retreat is all about growing your connection with the instrument in a relaxed and supportive setting.
Each morning we'll begin with a group session to set the tone for the day. From there, we’ll alternate between collective workshops and individual time with me, where we can focus on anything you’d like—learning a new piece, refining your rhythm, or exploring technique.
And just as importantly, there’ll be plenty of time to unwind, enjoy good food, great company, and soak in the peace and quiet of our stunning surroundings.
The Venue
We’re returning to Le Renard Perché, nestled in the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Natural Park—a truly special place that felt like home last time. Set at 900 metres above sea level, this beautifully renovated eco-gîte offers sweeping views of the surrounding forest and meadows.
Sustainably designed with comfort in mind, the space is open and welcoming, with modern amenities, cosy accommodations, and an atmosphere that invites rest, reflection, and creativity. The perfect backdrop for a deep dive into the world of the kora.
