Paul’s dream has come true…The Tour de France is coming to Yorkshire!!. He’ll tell anyone that the best riding in the world is in Yorkshire and now the Tour de France is in his backyard! Come and ride the ‘Lumpy’ roads of the north of England, the training grounds of Wiggins, the Yates brothers, Tom Pidcock and many more. We invite you to join us on this one off experience with our host Paul, who is itching to show you around the wild beauty of the North of England. We will be lodging in cottages on the majestic grounds of Broughton Hall estate, nestled among hundreds of acres of rewilding land in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. You will be surrounded by peace and tranquility, only briefly interrupted by the bleat of a sheep, a rabbit scurrying hither and thither or the sound of bird song. The estate has two lovely pubs within walking distance, where you can sample a pint of the legendary Yorkshire bitter. Before the pro peleton race through this enchanting landscapes, we will be riding the same roads among the Yorkshire Dales, the Ribble Valleyand the Lake District. Each region offers a unique riding experience - The North of England is full of beautiful old track roads, always heading up and down, weaving through gorgeous limestone villages. We may pass through some of Yorkshire’s most interestingly named villages - Crackpot, Wetwang, Upperthong, Fryup, Giggleswick, Booze, Blubberhouses, Wigglesworth and Wigtwizzle!” We will have VIP access to watch the race unfold and in the evening we invite you to join us for dinner with special guest Brian Cookson. Brian was the head of the UCI and British racing, creating the biological passport as an industry standard. He was also influential in the success of a new generation of British riders coming through the ranks of the pro peloton. We will be there in summer, so expect very long summer days, sunrise around 4.30am and sunset around 10:00pm - plenty of time to get acquainted with the stunning surrounds. Modern day England can also boast some great modern classic cuisine - thanks in part to the local culinary enfant terrible - Marco Pierre White who hails from nearby Leeds. The UK also boasts some award winning white wines and sparkling wine… but of course I’m sure we’ll be sampling many fine ales too. We look forward to a warm ‘Northern’ welcome!

Welcome to Yorkshire!! After you've settled into the lush countryside surroundings, we will head out through the beautiful historic market town of Skipton. Voted as the happiest place to live in the UK - so expect to be stopped for a 'quick' chat from some locals ... the Northern folk love a chat! This is our first taste of some true Yorkshire riding. We will pass by 12 century ruins of Bolton Abbey and the quintessential Yorkshire village of Burnsall for coffee.
After a hearty 'full English' breakfast, we begin our journey into the Yorkshire Dales National park. You'll feel these undulating country lanes burn the legs as we snake our way into the heart of Yorkshire - immortalized in the classic British TV series 'All creatures great and small'
After a long day, you'll have a thirst on, so let's get down the pub for a pint!
After breakfast, we set out heading south, passing through the historical village of Howarth. For the literary among you, this is a journey you'll appreciate, as we delve into true Bronte country, with landscapes straight from the pages of Wuthering Heights. Did someone mention a pint?
A day for the climbing legs today - as we traverse up and down the mythical tiny track roads of Pendle Hill, nestled in the pennines hill range. We're in Lancashire today an area steeped in rich history and folklore. Pendle hill was the location for the famous witch trials of 1612. Also here on the hill was where a vision gave birth to the Quakers.
It's a game time - Our efforts today will be rewarded by a view of the Grand Depart as we'll be heading west towards UK's west coast and then up to the Lake District to see the finale of Stage 1 of the Tour De France! It's hard to say what will be the highlight today - watching the pros fly by or the stunning natural beauty of one of England's most beautiful regions.
Today we will ride the beautiful Ribble valley and Trough of Bowland, an area awarded for its outstanding natural beauty. We will again be stopping on our bikes to watch the peleton come past. This is where Bradley Wiggins choose to live in the UK - because it has so many challenging roads and beauty to behold.
With a week's proper northern riding in your legs, you can choose to go for a quick spin or have an extra helping of black pudding with your fried bread, sausages, bacon, beans, fried eggs and tomatoes. Either way - this is where we say our farewells as we set you on your journey.
