After our daily wellness session, we’ll head into the mountains for our first hike of the adventure, exploring the beautiful landscapes of Mont Chéry and Mont Caly.
After a short journey from Morzine to the neighbouring village of Les Gets, we’ll make our way up towards Mont Chéry. Whether you choose to walk or take the lift, the journey upwards is an experience in itself. As we climb higher, the mountains begin to open up around us, and the snowy peak of Mont Blanc slowly appears between the surrounding summits. At 4,808 metres, Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in the Alps and one of Europe’s most iconic peaks.
At the Pointe de Mont Chéry, we’ll take in the spectacular panoramic views before setting off on the trail towards Mont Caly. The route winds through beautiful meadows and mountain landscapes, with the dramatic peaks of the French Alps stretching out around us. With Mont Blanc growing ever more impressive in the distance, it’s a wonderful introduction to the scale and beauty of the mountains that surround us throughout the week.
We’ll stop at Mont Caly to enjoy lunch with an unforgettable mountain backdrop. Take your time, soak up the views and enjoy the feeling of being high in the mountains before we begin our descent towards Les Gets.
Back in Les Gets, there’ll be time to explore the village at your own pace. Known for its traditional Alpine character, wooden chalets and beautiful mountain setting, Les Gets is a charming place to wander, browse the local shops or stop for a drink before we make our way back to Morzine.

You’re welcome to choose the option that feels right for you on the day. We recommend completing the full hike if you feel comfortable, but we also understand that hiking at higher altitudes or on more challenging terrain can be demanding, especially if you’re not used to it. This hike is accessible by lift, so you can choose how you’d like to experience the route — whether that means walking the full hike, taking the lift for part of the way or using it for both the ascent and descent.
Most importantly, listen to your body and enjoy the experience at your own pace. There’s no need to push yourself beyond your limits — the goal is to enjoy the mountains, not to prove anything.
Today, we’ll experience the mountains from two different perspectives, combining a scenic ride from Morzine with a beautiful hike high into the Alps.
We’ll set off from Morzine by bike, following quiet mountain roads as we make our way towards the spectacular Lac des Mines d’Or. Sitting at around 1,390 metres above sea level, this beautiful mountain lake is surrounded by alpine meadows, traditional mountain chalets and dramatic peaks.
When we reach Lac des Mines d’Or, we’ll leave the bikes behind and continue our adventure on foot. From here, we’ll follow the trail towards Col de Coux, gradually making our way higher into the mountains and towards the French-Swiss border. At around 1,920 metres above sea level, the Col de Coux opens up into spectacular high-mountain scenery, with sweeping views towards the Dents Blanches and the surrounding peaks of the French and Swiss Alps. Keep an eye out for marmots in the alpine meadows and chamois among the rocky slopes as we make our way higher.
After working up an appetite on the trail, we’ll stop for lunch high in the mountains, surrounded by the spectacular Alpine scenery. Take your time to enjoy the views, recharge and soak up the atmosphere before beginning our journey back towards Morzine.

After lunch, it’s time to get ready for our main climb - the legendary Col de Joux Plane. Famous for its appearances in the Tour de France, this demanding mountain pass is a true test for cyclists, with around 12 kilometres of climbing ahead of us. We’ll wind our way higher into the mountains, tackling the ascent one pedal stroke at a time as the scenery grows ever more spectacular.
Reaching the summit will be a moment to celebrate. But our adventure isn’t quite over yet! We’ll leave our bikes behind and continue on foot towards La Bourgeoise, a beautiful mountain lookout at 1,772 metres above sea level, offering magnificent panoramic views across the surrounding peaks, with Mont Blanc rising above the landscape in the distance. Take a moment to catch your breath, soak up the scenery and appreciate just how far we’ve come. If we’re lucky, we may even spot paragliders launching from the lookout and soaring out over the mountains.

This is the most demanding day of the trip, combining a substantial mountain ride, a challenging climb to Col de Joux Plane and a hike to La Bourgeoise. It’s a day for embracing the challenge, pacing yourself and celebrating the journey as much as the destination — with spectacular scenery to reward you every step of the way.
Today, we’ll enjoy a beautiful hike above Morzine, taking in spectacular mountain views and another chance to admire the magnificent Mont Blanc. With a shorter route, it’s a chance to slow the pace, enjoy a leisurely mountain lunch and appreciate the beauty of the Alps at a gentler pace.
We’ll set off from Morzine and make our way up towards Le Pléney, a mountain overlooking the village with wonderful views across the surrounding peaks and valleys. As we climb higher, the trail leads us away from the village and into the beautiful mountain landscape, with increasingly impressive views unfolding along the way. With around 8 kilometres of walking in total, this is a lovely opportunity to stretch our legs, breathe in the fresh mountain air and appreciate the beauty of the Alps.
Our destination is La Vaffieu, a popular family-run restaurant where we’ll stop for lunch surrounded by the mountain scenery. With Mont Blanc rising above the distant peaks, it’s a wonderful setting to enjoy a delicious meal and take in the views. After several days of exploring the mountains, we can take our time here, recharge and enjoy a more relaxed afternoon together.
Once we’ve finished lunch and soaked up the magnificent scenery, we’ll make our way back down to Morzine, completing our circular day in the mountains.

Today, we’ll set off from Morzine for a beautiful circular ride through some of the most distinctive landscapes in the French Alps, climbing towards the spectacular ski resort of Avoriaz before descending through charming Les Lindarets and finishing with a refreshing stop at the beautiful Lac de Montriond.
Our day begins with a steady climb of around 13 kilometres from Morzine towards Avoriaz, a remarkable mountain resort perched at 1,800 metres above sea level. As we wind our way up the mountain, the views across the surrounding peaks and valleys become increasingly impressive, making every pedal stroke worthwhile.
At the top, we’ll have time to explore Avoriaz, the highest resort in the Portes du Soleil ski area. Established in 1966, Avoriaz celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026. Unlike many traditional Alpine villages, it is known for its distinctive 1970s architecture, with cedar-shingle-clad buildings designed to blend into the surrounding mountain landscape. Take some time to wander around, admire the unusual architecture and enjoy the spectacular setting before we begin our descent.
From Avoriaz, we’ll enjoy a beautiful descent of around 21 kilometres, with two special stops along the way. Our first takes us to Les Lindarets, affectionately known as the Goat Village. This charming mountain hamlet is famous for the goats that wander freely around the village during the summer months, giving it a character all of its own. With traditional wooden chalets and mountain restaurants, it’s a lovely place to pause, have some lunch and soak up the atmosphere.
We’ll then continue towards Lac de Montriond, one of the region’s most beautiful natural spots. Surrounded by steep forested mountains, this stunning lake is known for its deep blue-green waters. Here, we’ll take a well-deserved break to enjoy a refreshing swim, grab a drink and relax beside the water.
After our lakeside break, we’ll continue downhill through Montriond, make a necessary stop at the local IBEX brewery for a cold one or few and then make our way back to Morzine, completing our circular route. With a rewarding climb, a long and exhilarating descent, a wonderfully characterful mountain village and time to swim in an Alpine lake, today offers a little bit of everything that makes exploring the French Alps so special.
Ride Distance: 34km
After a week of exploring the French Alps by bike and on foot, it’s time to say goodbye to Morzine and the mountains that have been our home for the past few days.
We’ll come together for one last breakfast, sharing memories of the trails we’ve explored, the summits we’ve reached and the unforgettable moments we’ve experienced along the way. It’s a chance to look back on our adventures, celebrate what we’ve accomplished and enjoy a final moment together before heading our separate ways.
After breakfast, we’ll say our goodbyes as you prepare for your journey home or your next destination. We hope you’ll leave with wonderful memories, a renewed appreciation for the mountains and plenty of stories to share — and perhaps even inspiration for your next adventure!
