About your trip

✨ The Unfolding: Egypt Edition

A Women’s Empowerment + Ocean Retreat

Designed for women craving simplicity, the sea, and a place to reconnect.

Join The Unfolding: Egypt Edition—a women’s empowerment retreat set in the magical Sataya Reef, one of the most unique dolphin habitats in the world. This is more than just a trip; it’s a week to step fully off-grid and reconnect with yourself during a new moon.

Each day begins with gentle pranayama breathing practices to center your mind and regulate your breath for the day ahead or with a little morning movement with yoga on deck. In between, you’ll swim alongside pods of wild dolphins, explore vibrant coral gardens, opportunities to grow in workshops, indulge in a complimentary massage, and spend unhurried days immersed in turquoise waters.

We’ll anchor in Sataya’s sheltered lagoon all week, giving you calm seas, crystal clarity, and the chance to truly settle in. Meals are freshly prepared on board, and days flow between snorkeling, movement, rest, and community connection. You have the option to add scuba diving to your mermaid adventures for the week. Even if you're not certified, we have PADI instructors and dive masters on board to make dreams come true.

Our week together begins with a welcome circle to set intentions and close the week with a bonfire on the beach, honoring the ways we’ve unfolded, released, and grown.

This isn’t just a trip—it’s a chance to reset, reconnect, and remember yourself, surrounded by the sea and the magic of sisterhood.

Egypt Retreat FAQ

Getting to Hurghada

  • You may fly into Hurghada International Airport (HRG) — approx. 3.5–4 hours away by car when we start our journey to the boat.

  • If you’re exploring Egypt beforehand or even after, let us know and we’ll help you plan a smooth route to join the group.

Is a hotel night included?
Yes! Your journey begins with a Friday arrival. We’ll arrange your airport pickup and bring you to an all-inclusive hotel near Hurghada. This gives you a night to rest, settle in, and meet the group. The next morning (Saturday) we’ll all head to the boat together to begin our week at sea.

What will the weather be like?
June in southern Egypt (Hamata & Sataya Reef) is warm and sunny, with daytime highs around 85–95°F (29–35°C) and pleasant evenings. The sea is calm, crystal-clear, and around 80–84°F (27–29°C) — perfect for long snorkels.

What should I pack?

  • Light, breathable clothing

  • Swimsuits & cover-ups

  • Sunscreen (reef-safe preferred)

  • Hat, sunglasses, and a light jacket for breezy evenings

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Personal toiletries

  • Optional: motion sickness remedies (just in case), journal, camera

Will I get seasick?
Unlike deep ocean crossings, our boat anchors in the Sataya Lagoon for the entire week. The lagoon is naturally protected, with very mellow waters and little to no swell. This means you won’t experience the typical rocking motion of open sea — making it a very comfortable stay even for those prone to motion sickness.

What about the dolphins?
The dolphins are 100% wild and free. We do not chase, touch, or feed them. The magic is in letting them come to you naturally. Respecting their space ensures both their safety and yours — and makes encounters even more special.

Do I need a visa for Egypt?
Yes, but it’s simple. Most travelers can purchase a visa upon arrival in Egypt for $25 USD (cash). Be sure to check your passport validity (must be valid for at least 6 months after entry).

Do I need travel insurance?
Yes — we recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, cancellations, and trip delays.
