Things that might be holding you back:

“It feels like a big investment.”
Yes, it is — and what you receive is truly life-changing. Payment plans are available, and many claim this as a professional development or tax expense. Your investment supports an intact lineage of midwives directly, not an organisation profiting from sacred teachings. You are honouring and upholding a living tradition. Honouring the cycle of reciprocity.

“Is Guatemala safe?”
As with all international travel, awareness matters. We’re staying at Casa Paloma — a safe, private, and secure retreat space on Lake Atitlán. I’ve spent extended time in Guatemala and will guide you in preparing for your journey with safety at the forefront.

“How will I get to the retreat location?”
I’ll support you in your booking of flight routes, accommodation, and transport to the lake. If you're travelling through the US, please check your passport requirements as visas are often required — although alternative routes are available if needed.

“Will I be certified at the end?”
This immersion goes far beyond certification. It is a return to embodied wisdom — a lived experience that can be woven into your work as a midwife, doula, bodyworker, or in how you live and care for others.

“Do I have to be a midwife or bodyworker to come?”
No. You don’t need any prior experience or plans to practise. This is a foundational training and journey of receiving — of reconnecting with your own womb, intuition, and inner power. All are welcome.

“I want to come but I have children / can’t leave my family.”
This isn’t just time away from your family — it’s nourishment that flows back into your home. Some women choose to bring their families to Guatemala and explore the rich culture together. Your loved ones are welcome to join us for the closing fire ceremony — a powerful and unforgettable experience for all. There are a limited number of rooms at Casa Paloma that are appropriate to book for a partner and baby if needed.

“I’ve never travelled alone.”
You won’t be alone for long. Most women come solo and leave with lifelong sisters. We’ll connect through a group call and WhatsApp group before the retreat, giving you the opportunity to coordinate travel plans and stay connected long after our time together.

“I want to come but I’m not sure I’ll be able to integrate what I learn.”
This is not just a training — it’s a shift in how you see the body, healing, and the sacred. You’ll leave with embodied practices and ongoing support to carry the teachings forward in your life and work.

“What makes this different from trainings like Arvigo or others offered in my home country?”
This is not a technique — it is a transmission. You will learn directly from traditional midwives within an unbroken lineage, held by the land, language, and ceremony that birthed this wisdom. Nothing compares to the experience of learning at the source.
