The British Virgin Islands are comprised of over 20 islands surrounding Tortola. As one of the top sailing destinations in the world, the BVIs are idyllic in nature, with hidden alcoves on hardly inhabited islands. Experience the mellow life of the local culture or have a cocktail at one of the classy old world yacht clubs, the BVIs is a perfect getaway vacation fit for any type of explorer.
The British Virgin Islands stand out as jewels set amid the sheltered, turquoise waters of the central Caribbean Sea. Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, and Anegada will all be stops as we cruise the archipelago. The smaller islands, splendid for day visits, add to the varied mix of activities, which can be as laid-back or as active you want. White-sand beaches, luxury waterfront resorts, chill local bars and upscale restaurants, snorkeling and scuba diving on coral reefs teeming with sea life, you can do it all.
Option 1: St Thomas Airport (STT) has the most affordable and frequent flights. After arriving at STT take a high speed ferry (~1 hour; approximately $35/each way – payable with cash or credit) from St Thomas to Tortola.
Option 2: Beef Island Airport (EIS), take taxi to the marina base, approximately 30 minutes. This is the most direct route but typically more expensive.
