About this trip

Known as the most difficult trek in Nepal's Khumbu Valley, the Three Passes trek circumnavigates through some of the most beautiful terrain on earth while crossing three high-elevation passes. In these passes it's common to find ice and snow, and deep snow is possible!

If that's not hard enough, we'll start this trip with an ascent from Lukla up Mera Peak. At 21,247 feet high, Mera is the highest trekking peak in this area. Crampons and ice axe is required, but no prior glacier travel or mountaineering skills are needed. Following Mera, we'll head over 19,177 ft Amphu Laptsa pass (a "bonus" pass!), and then begin our Three Pass trek. We'll first cross 18,159 ft Kongma La pass and rest in Lobuche. Next we'll cross the 17,782 ft Chola pass and into the Gokyo lakes region. Finally we cross 17,560 Rejo La pass.

This trip requires superb fitness and endurance, and is recommended only for those who have prior experience trekking at high elevations and/or multi day ultra endurance events.
