From La Paz, you will travel through the landscapes of the Bolivian Altiplano to reach the Tiwanaku Archaeological Complex, where you will discover ceremonial temples, pyramids, monoliths, and the famous Gate of the Sun. 08:00 AM We will pick you up from your accommodation located in downtown La Paz. Then we will board the tourist transport to begin our journey to Tiwanaku.
We will begin our journey to the Bolivian highlands. During the journey, we will appreciate Andean landscapes, Aymara communities, and views of the Cordillera Real mountain range.
Arrival in the town and the Tiahuanaco Archaeological Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We will explore the most emblematic temples of the archaeological complex:
Kalasasaya Temple, with the mythical Gate of the Sun and monoliths such as Ponce and Fraile.
Semi-subterranean Temple, famous for its more than 170 tenoned heads embedded in the walls.
Akapana Pyramid, a multi-level ceremonial structure still under investigation.
We will have time to enjoy a typical Andean lunch at a local restaurant, with options such as quinoa, llama meat, chuño soup, or fresh trout.
We begin our return journey, enjoying the Andean sunset over the Altiplano plateau.
We conclude the tour by dropping you off at your hotel or in a centrally located, easily accessible area.
