About this trip

Charquini is a majestic snow-capped mountain near La Paz featuring a melting glacier and the stunning, vivid-green Emerald Lagoon at its base. It is the ultimate destination for high-altitude trekking, accessible snow encounters, and breathtaking alpine photography in the Royal Range of the Andes.

Cancellation Policy

You must cancel or amend your booking at least 48 hours before the tour's departure time

Highlights: Tiwanaku

  • Activity Duration: 6 to 7 hours total (Hotel to Hotel).

  • Type of Tour: Archeological, historical, and cultural sightseeing.

  • Difficulty Level: Very Easy. Mostly flat walking paths around the ruins and museums. Suitable for all ages.

  • All-Inclusive Guarantee: Transportation, professional guiding, entrance tickets, and a traditional lunch included.

What to Bring: Passenger Checklist

  • Sun Protection (Crucial): SPF 50+ sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed sun hat or cap. The archeological site is entirely outdoors with no natural shade, and the high-altitude UV rays are very intense.

  • Windproof Layers: A light-to-medium jacket or windbreaker. While it can feel warm under the direct sun, the Altiplano winds are frequent, dry, and cold.

  • Comfortable Walking Shoes: Sneakers, running shoes, or light hiking boots with good grip. You will be walking on dirt paths, gravel, and stone surfaces for a couple of hours.

  • Hydration: At least 1.5 liters of bottled water to stay hydrated throughout the day and prevent headaches caused by the dry high plains.

  • Small Daypack: A comfortable backpack to carry your camera, water bottle, layers of clothing, and personal items.

  • Cash in Bolivianos (BOB): Bring small bills (approx. 50–100 BOB per person) for purchasing local handicrafts, alpaca textiles, extra drinks during lunch, or tipping.

  • Camera or Smartphone: Fully charged, with plenty of storage space for capturing the precise carvings of Puma Punku and the Gate of the Sun.
