Toubkal ascent Trek
Toubkal Ascent Trek of 2 Days

DAY 1: MARRAKECH -TAHNAUT- ASNI- IMLIL - REFUGE TOUBKAL

Toubkal Treks are organized by Toubkal Experience. We leave Marrakech at 8 a.m. towards the high Atlas Mountains, passing via Tahaouet (local market on Tuesdays), Valley Ghighaya, Moulay Brahim Gorges, Asni (market on Saturdays), and terraced fields of vegetables, fruit trees, walnuts, and cherries. Meet the team guide and muleteer at Imlil (1740m), then begin the journey between the fields and surrounding villages of Imlil along the Ait Mizane valley, Taouerite, Targa Imola, Tagadirte, and Armed 1900m.

Then on to the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2500m) for lunch next to the river, then on to the Toubkal refuge (3206m) by snaking and zigzagging mule routes. Spend the night at the shelter. (We provide ordinary or premium lodging for Toubkal hikes.)

DAY 2: TOUBKAL REFUGE - TOUBKAL SUMMIT - REFUGE - IMLIL - MARRAKECH

An early start to view the sunrise from Mount Toubkal's peak, followed by a river crossing into the south circle above the refuge and a climb through an avalanche of boulders and pebbles. Then it's a short walk between massive boulders, where the altitude makes steps difficult in a few places, before arriving at a plateau from which you can see the first rays of sunset on the neighboring peaks above 4000 meters.

After a short hike to the peak with panoramic views on each side of the mountain, we will find ourselves on the top of North Africa after 3 hours of walking, with a spectacular view in every direction (to the north the plain of Marrakech and the northern valleys, lake villages, to the south Anti Atlas & Sahara). The time spent at the top will be determined by the weather, but 30 minutes should suffice before descending the same route to the refuge, which takes 2 hours. After lunch and recuperation, you will stroll down to Imlil for 3 hours and 30 minutes, retracing our travels, before we take you to Marrakech.
