This excursion allows visitors to see an imposing natural viewpoint where they can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of El Calafate and Lake Argentino. It starts from the hotels of El Calafate and completes a 35-kilometer journey along the line of hills behind the village.
The trail takes us through landscapes typical of Argentine Patagonia. It reaches 1050 m.a.s.l. There, the first stop is a natural viewpoint where passengers will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of El Calafate, the central body of Lago Argentino and the Cerro Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre (weather permitting).
Then we will continue to Laberinto de Piedras. This is a formation from the Cretaceous period that dates back 85 million years and was once a river bed.
We will descend until we reach the Piedra de los Sombreros, which are iron concretions found only in four places in the world, from where we will return to El Calafate with a view of Lago Argentino.
