Experience an unforgettable adventure in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon with our Lake Sandoval Tour, a journey that combines hiking through the lush rainforest of the Tambopata National Reserve with a relaxing canoe ride on the waters of the stunning Lake Sandoval. During the tour, you'll discover the incredible biodiversity of this ecosystem, observing monkeys, birds, caimans, turtles, and, with a bit of luck, giant otters, all while enjoying unique natural landscapes and the sounds of the jungle. It's the perfect way to connect with nature and explore one of the most captivating destinations in Madre de Dios.
9:00 am We'll begin our adventure with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or meeting point in Puerto Maldonado. We'll head to the city's port, where we'll begin our journey along the Madre de Dios River.
We'll board a motorized boat for an approximately 30-minute trip along the Madre de Dios River. During the journey, we'll enjoy the Amazonian landscape.
We'll arrive at the entrance to the Tambopata National Reserve, considered one of the main protected natural areas in the Peruvian Amazon.
Accompanied by our guide, we'll begin a hike, venturing into the rainforest while discovering the region's great diversity of flora and fauna.
After the hike, we'll arrive at the spectacular Lake Sandoval, one of the main attractions of the Tambopata National Reserve.
Here, we'll board a traditional canoe and begin exploring the lake, navigating peacefully through the Amazonian vegetation.
We'll stop at a strategic location to rest and enjoy the scenery. Our guide will help us identify the different species of flora and fauna we encounter during the experience.
This will also be an ideal time to take photographs and appreciate the tranquility of one of the most important ecosystems in the Peruvian Amazon.
With renewed energy, we will begin our return along the jungle trail. The wildlife may be especially active during the hike, so we will have more opportunities to observe animals and enjoy the natural surroundings.
We will board the boat again to navigate the Madre de Dios River back to Puerto Maldonado.
We will transfer you back to your hotel or meeting point.
