This morning, you will be up bright and "Squirrley" as we are heading for the "Serengeti of the West," Lamar Valley. There you have an opportunity to see and photograph the wildlife that make the Yellowstone ecosystem their home. Speaking of food, you will enjoy a leisurely picnic lunch with your guide along the way. Later this afternoon at Mammoth Hot Springs, you will have your first geothermal experience as you walk along the boardwalks amongst the springs and steam vents, sometimes referred to the largest "Tums" in the world! Learning how the ever evolving geothermal/chemical reactions inspire awe and wonder, you'll observe 500 gallons of water a minute spilling across this magnificent terraced landscape.
Here at Fort Yellowstone you'll also discover the history about how this land has been preserved as America's first national park. After a day exploring and mingling with wildlife, dinner will be on own this evening.

Here, lakeside hot springs and pools offer vivid colors and an unforgettable experience against the backdrop of the lake.
