Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 2 days

We had an incredible time with TreXperience! Maritza is everything you want in a guide - really knowledgeable, motivating, and great fun! The trek itself was superb with some fantastic scenery and a good sense of challenge (without ever getting too hard). Plus the catering was phenomenal! Our chefs Francisco and Julio went above and beyond, whether they were bringing us hot chocolate and popcorn after a long day or managing to produce outstanding meals seemingly out of thin air!

This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! It was incredibly hard but incredibly beautiful and so worth it! Our guide Jose Luis (Pepe) was amazing - from his knowledge on the Andes and Incan history, to his friendliness, attentiveness and the care he took of us through the 4 days - 5 stars! Trexperience did a great job with the camping equipment provided (the sleeping bags and tents kept me warm through the night at the highest altitudes when it got below freezing, and the campsites were always set up an ready for us at the end of each day) and the chefs did an amazing job for every meal they provided - not only in the quality and taste of the food, but they even put effort into presentation! All around great tour, I highly recommend it! 

Classic Salkantay Trek 4 Days To Machu Picchu

Barbabe was an awesome guide, and the two day trip was perfect. It was a long, challenging hike on the Incan Trail, but consistently incredible - the sites leading up to Machu Picchu were incredible, and arriving at the Sun Gate was indescribable. Our sunrise tour was awesome, and I didn’t think we’d be able to climb Montaña, but we did, and I’m glad for the experience!

Classic Inca trail 4 days - Tamara x2

From the moment we booked our Classic Inka Trail Trek with this provider we felt it was a perfect choice! Every question by mail was answered right away and we received all the detailed information which were important to us. 
The evening before the Inka Trail there´s a review onsite at TreXperience and also there we got all necessary information. I just can say everything is perfectly organized before, during and after the trip. I can highly recommend this provider also from this point-of-view. 

Max. group-size is normally 8, but for us it was 2 x 8, so we had 2 guides: 
JJ, a very experienced and humorous guide with passion in history and 
Juan, a relatively young guide, but with his patience and help we (52 and 62 years) could make it and we would like to say THANK YOU, JJ and Juan for everything!!! 
But not only the guides were amazing, all the group around like all the porters, cooking-crew... They did a great job and made the trip comfortable for us. Never I expected such food-experience on such a nature-trip. It´s above the standard,  I would say. 

We came across this provider by chance, but I am very greatful that this was the perfect choice for us!
Bottom-line: if you think about to book a trek => I am convinced you won´t regret to do this with TreXperience!

Phenomenal experience! What a way to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Trexperience has gone above and beyond to plan and execute each and every step of our journey. We were supposed to do Inca Trail, but life threw a monkey wrench into our plans. We had to adjust accordingly and did this two-day trip instead. The owner did everything possible and impossible to salvage our trip. We saw Machu Picchu and ended up very happy! Next time we will do the real deal.

This company was recommended by our friends. There are many imposters out there. Be careful when you choose your guides. Trexperience was worth every penny we spent. Will definitely comeback for more.

The Lares Trek with the Trexperience team was nothing short of incredible and something my partner and I will remember for the rest of our lives. We had Chef Lorenzo and Sue Chef Ezekiel/Miguel looking after us aswell as our wonderful guide Marabel. The food that the Chefs were cooking in the rural Andean communities was hands down the best food we had during our whole month in South America. It was fresh, it was nutritious, had so much flavour and was always plated beautifully. My partner and I felt so well looked after and looked forward to every meal time. Our Guide Marabel felt like she was family. She was extremely understanding of our altitude sickness and looked after us and cared about our well being. She always took the time to explain the area, give us insight into what it was like in ancient times and what it’s now like in present times. It truly was an incredible cultural experience because of Marabel. We met so many incredible children along the way and pretty much had the entire paths to ourselves the whole 3 days. 2 Day Tour to Machu Picchu

First of all, I'll start with the good things and then, some that personally it needs to be improved.

POSITIVE: first of all, the company is avobe others just for the simple fact that they pay fairly to people, don't over exploit them like others do (for example Alpaca expedition, we've seen double the KG a porter should be carrying), they also have nice details like the train back to Cusco is 360 panoramic (not all companies do that, just a few).

When it came to porters, they are great, fast and efficient hars workers that are 100% paying attention to you since day 1. Special mention to the cookers, they are like god master chefs who cook amazing things in the middle of nowhere, most of the food was even better than the restaurants, incredible, geniuses.

Finally, thank you for the guides to take care of us and lead us all the way to Machupicchu, especial mention to @Juvenal, an amazing guide who's organization was perfectly executed since the breefing day 0. He knows a lot about psychology of groups and how to handle them in tough situations, prepare them psychology for what's to come and manage sudden events like that could affect or even end someone's treck. We were amaze also by his knowledge of the culture and the trecking history. I've done lots of trecks like this around the world and I could say he's one of the best, if not tge best guide ever had. Wish him the best in the future. I would repeat any future experience with him without doubt.

NEGATIVE: they promise premium customer service, and during the treck, we sort of had it, they claim to be avobe other companies when it comes to paychecks and caring people, and they are, but they also claim to be resourceful if any things turns wrong before the treck and to adapt an itinerary to you... and that, they didn't deliver. Altitude sicknes hit me pretty hard first week in Peru and for one week we were asking yo have a plan B and gives us a final plan and pricing in case we had to cancel, they never did, and it was pretty chaotic, as the breefing sesion with our main guide Robinson. On that they didn't deliver and I hope in the future they improve on that area, it was pretty disappointing to see they claim yo differentiate from the competence on that, to adjust and be more "personal" and flexibile in case something happens before the trip but unfortunately they didn't.
THIS IS A DIRECT COMPLAIN TO THE COMPANY AND NOT THE AMAZING TEAM THEY HIRE TO EXECUTE THE TRECK. SO THE EXPERIENCE YOU'LL GET DURING AND FROM THE TEAM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS NEGATIVE PART FROM THE COMPANY.

I will still give them the 5 star hoping they improve that in the future!

AN EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME. The Inca trail hike was challenging, invigorating and rewarding.
Months ago when Giles and I decided to hike to Machu  Picchu, we did extensive research and from the reviews, Trexperience stood head and shoulders above the scores of companies offering the Inca trail hike.
So we chose TREXPERIENCE and experienced their astounding service first hand. From the time we booked, the communication lines were wide open, with the company seeming to count down our arrival as much as we did.
We did the trail from May 23 to 26, 2022. There was fantastic weather. A diverse, fun and supportive group of 14 hikers, 22 porters, a cook and guides Eddie and Juan comprised the blue team that jostled for pride of place as the top finisher to Machu Picchu.
Going into the four day hike which entailed climbing up to 4200 meters, I knew my bad knees would be an issue but I was determined to complete my bucket list item. From the start Giles stayed with the pack like a trooper but as expected my knees and altitude sickness relegated me to the back of the pack the first two days. My saving grace? Charismatic and outgoing Eddie along with the reserved but confident Juan. They both encouraged me through the pain and altitude sickness, each one taking turns to bring up the rear with me. But especially Juan.  He was the master of distraction from my pain, turning the hike into a personalised tour replete with history lessons and the identification of flora/fauna. NO MAN/WOMAN LEFT BEHIND. 
Food, good food featured prominently on the hike, beginning with breakfast for champions. The energy you needed for a gruelling trek. 
Each breakfast,  lunch and dinner all featured spreads that rivalled those of classy restaurants. 
Which brings me to the phenomenal, fleetfooted porters who, each laden with more than 15 pounds, often ran past hikers on the trail. 
They were as integral to the team as the guides and the chef, always making sure that everyone had what they needed when they needed it.

Macchu Picchu is hardly the highlight of this journey. The surrounding area we traveled through is absolutely stunning. I cannot say enough about Luis, Melky and crew. They kept us warm, well-fed and in good spirits despite the early mornings. I am missing Melky's coca tea wake up call and the FOOD! This trek is definitely worth the sore legs. But don't underestimate the effects of the altitude

Es war einfach unglaublich! Ich empfehle Trexperience von ganzem Herzen! Das Essen war auf jeden Fall ein Highlight. Aber auch alles rundherum war luxuriöser als man Camping kennt! Man bekommt immer warmes Wasser, um sich zu waschen, es gibt 3 Gänge Menüs beim Essen, das vegetarische Essen ist ebenfalls top! Die Guides sprechen perfektes Englisch, man fühlt sich richtig wohl und aufgehoben in der Gruppe! Danke für alles!!!

Whoever visits Machu Picchu just by taking the bus and walking around, does a big mistake. Taking at least the last part of the trail provides a completely different experience. We got amazing views of the nature, a few glaciers on the horizon, and the most impressive part were probably the Winay Wayna ruins, in the middle of the wooded mountain. Our guide, Filio, was very attentive, always making sure whether we need anything, explaining us a lot along the way about the history of the area. There was a small issue with the ticket name at the start of the trail, however it was resolved and we haven't missed anything from the trip. We only regret not taking one of the longer versions of the Inca Trail, but unfortunately our plan could not have been extended anymore. The additional important advantage of this trip is, that you visit Machu Picchu on 2 subsequent days. This greatly improves the probability, that you'll get a nice weather at least one day. In our case, we saw the ancient city from the Sun Gate in its full beauty on the first day (evening) in golden colors. The next day, while we explored it from the inside, it was raining in the morning and quite foggy later. Would have been a great shame, if we only went the 2nd day. For this reason, I really recommend visiting it as part of at least 2 day trek.

Amazing magical trip w even better guides, porters and cooks. So happy they made sure we all made it to the end!

Fantastic tour. The guides we had - Juvenal for the sacred Valley and Pepe for the inca trail and machu pichu were friendly, knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time! Highly recommended both tours and trexperience.

Sacred Valley + Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 3 days & 2 nights

Our group of four adults had the most memorable experience with Trexperience. We couldn't have asked for better guides -- JJ and Filio. Without them and their amazing team we wouldn't have felt more at ease on this trip. We had nightly massages followed by wine and incredible gourmet food. The tents and the accommodations were 5-star! We were definitely glamping to say the least but it was worth every penny. Although our hike to Machu Picchu was fogged in along the route, when we reached Machu Picchu the fog drifted away and we were left with incredible unforgettable views! TreXperience responded promptly to our emails and communicated to us in a timely manner. The company is trustworthy and worth investing in. It's a trip of a lifetime so don't skimp on the opportunity to do it luxury style!  

Luxury Inca Trail 4 days and 3 nights

This was one of the best experiences of my life! I am seventy years old and have had many wonderful experiences but this one rate very high in comparison. The organization of TreXperience was outstanding, the porters very good, the cooks exceptional, and the two guides were very friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate and were focused on the needs of every individual in the group.

We had an amazing time on our 4 day inca trail hike. JJ was a great guide and the entire company worked incredibly hard to make us feel comfortable. Would fully recommend this trip. 

Alex our guide was amazing! He tailored the trek to our needs and interests. We couldn't have asked for a better guide.  

First-time Peru travellers, we were drawn to Trexperience because of their good reviews and because they’re locally-owned. We went with the 2D/1N camping option because we wanted the hiking experience but because we were also unsure of the physical toll (recently-problematic knee) of the 4-day trek. As it turns out, the 2D/1N hiking experience is very doable (12km on a mostly gradual ascent). Makes me want to come back for the 4D trek!

Good up-front communication with the details of the trip clearly laid out in English. Our guide, Sonya, was fantastic. Warm, friendly, and all-knowing with respect to Inca history. The pace was easy, as was the conversation along the way.

For people trying to decide between the camping option and the slightly cheaper hotel option, the difference - as far as I can make out - is that the camping option means travelling with porters who lay out mind-blowing & stomach-filling spreads along the way (2B, 1L, 1D). It was far more lavish than we imagined and made us wonder how we’d be able to continue hiking with such full stomachs! We’re normally accustomed to a ‘pack your own lunch’ approach to hiking.

The camping location is at the valley bottom alongside the sacred Urubamba River. Tents, sleeping bags, deluxe mattresses all provided. It was pretty cool waking up to coca tea and a vertical view up through the clouds to Machu Picchu high above. Short walk back to nearby Aguas Calientes to catch the bus back up to Machu Picchu. You definitely want to arrive early (and we did) because the crowds filing their way through Machu Picchu can get quite long.

One of the things we really appreciated about this package was that we got to see Machu Picchu twice, once at the end of the first day (at the end of the Inca Trail) and once more the second day when we had ample time (2-3hrs) to leisurely explore the site. This worked out to our advantage because the first day was sunny and clear while the second day was misty (and mysterious). Truly, the best of both experiences.

Another thing we really enjoyed about the 2D option was that it was a very personal experience. Given the popularity of the 4-day trek, the groups can get large (a dozen or so?). For the 2D trek, it was just the two of us and our guide. There was room for more, but we were the only ones that day. Same for the next trek after us. The result was a very personalized experience. We set our own pace, stopped when we wanted, and had easy, direct access to our guide, Sonya. It felt like a private tour even though we didn’t pay for one.

The only reason I didn’t give this 5/5 stars (apart from being a hard marker!) is that there were a few (very) minor hiccups with some logistical pieces that Sonya and the porters were adeptly able to manage in the moment.

Overall, we felt like we were in very good hands from start to finish. I recommend Trexperience and would definitely consider using them again if/when we return for the 4-day trek.

For context, we’re a father-son travel duo, ages 50 & 18. We both exercise regularly and enjoy being outdoors. All aspects of the trip were within our physical limits and comfort level.

We took the luxury inca trail trek with Trexperience mid April 2022. We always try to search for a local operator based on fellow travellers reviews. It was rather easy in the case of Trexperience as they seem to benefit from numerous positive reviews on the web and they were one of the few companies able also to offer a more pampering version of the treck with better food, tents, beds, shower/wc.
The owner Carlos was responsive, informative, reliable and professional from start to finish and the team that helped us through the trek was great. I especially wish to mention Miguel, the guide, who was knolwgeable, helpful and supportive, responsible and more than anything, a great guy to have next to you on such a jurney.
The trek was amazing and the views are unforgetable.
I can wholeheqrtedly reccomend Trexxperience and take this opportunity to thank them again.

Luxury Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 5D/4N

Thanks to Carlos Ccolcca, we have lived a wonderful experience. He helped us to recognize and see hummingbirds. The staff was good and brave to carry on stuff. 
The cook was very good. 

An amazing time. 

I had a great time and great experience.  Charlie and Sarita were always on the alert and making sure everyone was safe and not experiencing altitude sicknesses.  

It was an amazing experience , Food was excellent and so were all the porters and guides.

I would highly recommend a decent salary to the porters and not count on the tips only that for sure they deserve. Definitively a real salary for them. They should earn more than everyone else. They are humans like us and need respect also in a proper wage and not only waiting for a tip, that they deserve absolutely. 

Again a fair salary to the porters, if I had known, I would not had used a porter for those conditions.  I might have not done it at all probably.

It is very sad to see those exploitations nowadays.

A truly life experience to one of the wonders of the world.  TreXperience made a challenging hike so comfortable with great food and accommodations.

Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain hike

fantastic tour with Sonia! There were strikes going on at the time so it made it more interesting, but I always felt in safe and capable hands. the food was great, and the hotel was clean and big with a great view of the river. great hike and coming over the last hill to the sun gate was breathtaking. the tour of MP the second morning was great also. 

We did not make it to the trip. We booked this trip about 6 months ago, but my wife is pregnant of twins and doctor advised not to travel. So, about 2 months ago I emailed the agency hoping they would help as I was trying to work with them to possibly cancel to allow rebooking and possibly get some of my deposit back, which was around or more 90% of the cost. I’m very unhappy to say I did not even receive a response. I understand the trip was not refundable, but I would have loved a response at least, out of respect! This is not the way to do business in my opinion.

Inca Jungle tour To Machu Picchu

With an amazing group and the guides Elisban and Manolo I finished this April the 4-day’s Inca trail. It was an incredible & challenging adventure and one of my highlights of a 5-week travel in Peru. The guides are well experienced and will tell you a lot about the Inca history during the hike and cozy dinners in the tent. Together with the porters, the guides take care of everything. The food and sleeping equipment where above expectations. And what I liked to most is de personal touch of TreXperience, they pay attention to every hiker and make sure you will have a great experience, together with your group.

Trexperience is truly Exceptional, they went above and beyond to make sure our experience was seamless and bucket-list worthy! What could have tainted our trip due to miscommunication at the airport the night before the trek, Carlos and Elvis helped arrange my pickup at the airport the morning of and dropped me off at the trailhead with the rest of my group. Our guide Oliver was knowledgable and passionate about Incan history and made our trek memorable and fun. The porters were mighty and handled our luggage and the trek without a sweat. Our chefs Vacilio and Amilkar treated us top-notch multi-course meals that trump any imagination you could have of dining while trekking. Highly recommend trekking company for the Inca Trail!

The entire team was highly professional. i appreciated the small group size of the trek during our journey, as it made everything so much more personalized. Could not have asked for a better experience for the Inca Trail than with Trexperience!!!

First, due to an unfortunate misunderstanding at the airport, my friend and travel companion missed his connecting flight into Cusco. This threatened to sink our whole Machu Picchu adventure, but Carlos at the office was incredibly helpful and communicative, arranging for a taxi to pick up my friend the following morning from the airport and dropping him off right at the trailhead, where another Trexperience guide escorted him to our group. This was truly exceptional customer service and we will be forever grateful to Trexperience for saving our Inca Trail adventure!!

Our guide Oliver was very informative, patient, funny, and taught us a lot about Inca history and culture, tying it into the present day.

Chefs Amilkar and Vacilio cooked truly incredible food that rivals the best restaurants we’ve eaten at throughout Latin America. Despite the limited resources of a camping environment, each meal was unique,  fresh, and flavorful.

The porters did superhuman work to provide a seamless experience and the trip could not have been the same without their tireless efforts. Our deepest gratitude goes to them. Special shoutouts to Benedicto and Ruben Quispe, and Melchor Palomino.

I would highly, highly recommend Trexperience and I would encourage anyone to go with them for the Inca Trail journey.

If you are looking for the right outfitter to use for the Inca Trail, I strongly endorse Trexperience. The Trex team showed incredible attention to detail to every single aspect of the Hike and the care they showed to every person in the group made the whole experience one of the best of my life. I can't say enough about our guides Juan Jose (JJ) and Soledad (Sol). With every step we took they became more like friends than our guides. The porters and the chefs were also instrumental in delivering greatness. As JJ said before the hike, "we are going to treat you like Kings and Queens." And they did. Truly a trip of a lifetime. 




Our guide Miguel (Mickey) was so accommodating to my friend and I, we were a small group of 3 women and everything went great. We were prepared for everything through his communication. It was a long day but the result was awesome arriving at Intipunku and descending into Machu Picchu. He was patient and knew all of the great photo spots. He had great knowledge to share of the Inca history for us. Our hotel was nice and lunch on our own location was great. One thing I would do differently is for the boxed lunch we were given to take on the trail was delicious but cumbersome to put into our backpack. Something that was wrapped and sturdy would have worked better than a little box! Thank you for a great experience! 

We had a really great time. The Inca trail is not easy and my daughter got sick but the company was so good in helping making arrangements and Felix our guide was amazing.  Really knowledgeable and caring

My wife and I did the 4D/3N Classic Inca Trail with Trexperience. We were very excited about this trip and it was truly amazing. Our guides were Elvis and Rosa, who were fantastic! I really think that the guides can make the experience just good or make it amazing. In this case it was amazing!

I'd really like to thank them both because they were always very friendly and attentive. I could not walk at my normal pace as I hurt my knee only a few days before the trail. The guides were always next to us without putting pressure, telling us stories about Peru, the Incas, their experiences. Elvis is very knowledgeable so he always managed to get the group's attention. He was also very clear about the itinerary, plan of the day and looked after every person by checking if everyone was feeling fine and dealing with the altitude. Elvis and Rosa really helped me a lot when I would have probably struggled with a different guide due to my knee injury. They both are amazing guides and amazing people

This was a great and challenging experience but the team that Trexperience has put together made it perfect. The chef Valvino and his cook surprised us with great meals, some meals were very creative and some of them even inspired on the jokes we would tell! The porters are just lovely people that were always willing to help and kept a smile on their faces at all times

I was really happy to have chosen Trexperience and to have stick with them after having this trip postponed for 2 years due to the pandemic. The equipment they provide is in very good condition and clean (the tents, sleeping bags, air mattresses), the food is very nice, they provide enough water for each day, their communication prior to the tour is very good

My only comment, and this is probably a problem with the whole industry (not only about Trexperience) is that we (the group of tourists) felt that there was a lot of pressure from the company to give hefty tips to the team. The porters do a very extenuating and dangerous job. These guys carry big bags every day for kilometers, probably for many consecutive groups of tourists. The success of the experience relies a lot on them being able to cope with the long walks and long hours - they seem to be working for 16 hours (from preparing everyone to start the day until they wash everything after dinner). We of course left tips but you always feel it is not enough, but the company must ensure that they receive a decent salary, and that tips are only an extra for a great job! We were 10 tourists and there were 15 porters plus cooks and guides, so any amount ends up being small for each porter! The guide 'encouraged' us to leave more tips as he knows these porters really need it, but it should not be like that. They should receive a better salary so they rely a bit less on the tips

I would definitely recommend Trexperience to my friends and family visiting Peru, and would definitely tell them that they should request Elvis and Rosa as their guides!
