Sumit has studied classical Hatha yoga at Uttarakhand Sanskrit University in Haridwar, Ashtanga yoga in Mysore and Acro yoga in Goa. He later added therapeutic yoga to his studies as well, which gave him extensive knowledge of the proper alignment of the human body and yoga postures. Sumit believes that one must experience yoga himself before teaching yoga to others. His teachings are primarily focused on the basics of Iyengar yoga, where he works on alignment, precision of postures and use of equipment to make students experience the greatness of Guruji BKS Iyengar's teachings.
He still enjoys broadening his yogic horizons and has a passion for creating a healthy space for the mind, body and spirit by sharing the practice of yoga. Today, Sumit ji is a multi-style teacher with certifications in Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin and Iyengar yoga styles.
