Amanda and Emily of Trailbreaker are thrilled to offer our third summer wellness/adventure retreat in 2026! We look forward to hosting a new group of inspiring, open hearted people in our beautiful Alaska home. We want to take you hiking, kayaking, and adventuring. We want to feed you wonderful local food prepared by dear friends, chat around the beach bonfire and drink lattes on the porch in our pjs. We want to practice mindfulness and yoga with you, walk through the misty forest looking for otters and listening to ravens. We want to talk with you about your biggest challenges, hold space for you, and find solutions through building relationships and sharing ideas. We want you to prioritize yourself for a week in nature, and leave here feeling full of motivation and hope.
We are a very small non-profit and this is a small group size - which makes it really awesome in our opinion! But it does mean that finances are tight! We need to meet a minimum number of participants for the trip to move forward and our time to meet that minimum is May 15. Do not fret! Once you sign up we will keep you informed of how things are looking and inform you ASAP if we have not reached a minimum.
This also means that if you cancel your trip after the May 15 deadline, we will do our best to refund you as much of what you have invested as possible, but this will really depend on how close we are to the retreat date. We understand that emergencies come up and want what is best for everyone.
Cozy cabin in the Alaskan woods. Close enough to Seward to take advantage of it's fun resources, but far enough away for quiet
Almost every meal, snack, and beverage is included starting with dinner on the 9th through breakfast the morning of the 15th. There are a few exceptions explained below.
We include mild-moderate guided hikes and kayaks within our itinerary! Amanda was a kaya guide in Seward and Emily was a national park ranger in Denali for many years.
We weave small mindfulness activities into each day and Amanda will lead us in various types of yoga over the week. Amanda is a trauma informed certified yoga instructor.
Amanda will gift us with a sound bath at the cabin at the end of the week
We will have a little portable sauna brought to the cabin for one night of the week!
We rent a big sprinter van to transport everyone from the Anchorage airport and back again. We will also have a back up vehicle available in Seward so Amanda or Emily can make side quests when needed.
If there is a particular item that you would like to have for this trip that is really not useful in the rest of your normal life, let us know and we can probably find something for you to borrow.
We want animal obsessed people at this retreat so of course there will be animals. Participants may be able to bring their own pet upon discussion with hosts. Parkour will definitely join us.
We'll spoil you with a little bag of goodies and helpful items
We work hard to provide an environment of emotional safety and foster friendships, so you leave with something priceless
Seward, Alaska, gives access to some spectacular opportunities for adventure. We have a day set aside for optional helicopter tours, fishing, mushing etc but they will be booked separately.
Sometimes we are able to find a massage therapist who will come to the cabin to offer personal massages. If this opportunity comes up you will be the therapist directly.
We plan one big dinner out in Seward so you can take advantage of the fine, local dining opportunity and support local farmers. This dinner isn't included so everyone can chose what they like.
There is no restriction against alcohol - we've found how much we consume really depends on each group! But because of that variability we do not include it with the meals.
Anyone who arrives a little early or stays a little late is welcome to hang out with us! We can go for coffees or snacks or shopping.
