About this trip

We recently did a trip to Peru through Machu Travel, and I must say that it exceeded our expectations. Tour was customized to our preferences and with private guide and transport throughout. It made our experience more enjoyable. The highlight was definitely our tour guide, Kevin, who was knowledgeable and passionate about Peru history and culture. Overall, it was a great experience and highly recommended to others!

We had a day trip to Caral from Peru.  We knew that the drive was long, 4 hours each way. The driver and our guide Al did a great job of getting us there. We had to take a 15 minute tractor ride to the actual site because of troubles with the other road in, although others were parked near the site when we got there. Al did his best with us but he is not that familiar with Caral and we were required to go in with A Spanish speaking guide in the actual site. The site itself is in the early stages of excavation I would say. It was dry and hot with no shade. It would've been nice to have umbrellas or a heads up about this especially after a long drive.  When we arrived we should've taken our packed lunch in. It was so hot we had to rush through the site, the kids were grumpy after the long drive. The packed lunch was way too big and very expensive in hindsight.($35US) I would say simple sandwiches and a piece of fruit and drink would've been enough. 
Overall service from the travel agency was always good and easy.
Al was a good guide. Not sure I would recommend a day trip with kids here. It was our own idea to go and see the 3000 year old site .

I decided to book directly through Machu Travel Peru from Canada and it was the best decision. From the preparation of the trip to the end of the trip, we received amazing service. We had a person waiting for us at the airport with a clear sign and the rest of the trip was as well organized throughout. The fact that we were not stuck with a big group for the duration of our trip made the experience unforgettable. 
Our guides in Lima, Cusco and Machu Pichu were all fantastic and knowledgeable.  We had the opportunity to climb the Wayna Pichu and the view was just amazing.

We had a wonderful time, Machu Travel Peru were always available to answer questions, 

The frustrating part is that nobody speaks or understand English at Machu Travel Peru, which makes it difficult for tourist from North America to communicate with the tour guide or office.
 
Some of the hotel's bathroom could have been cleaner to make it more comfortable, for example, the mold in shower or shower drains not draining.

We had a full schedule for 17 days, and it was organized, no delays, guides were always nice, patient, and ready to help. 

When we had to cancel our Rainbow Mountain Tour due to not feeling well due to altitude sickness, they send us to a very nice restaurant for diner at no cost to us, very appreciated.

Peru is a wonderful country! Kind people. We had good tour guides and drivers, however the cost/benefit of the service provided by the organizer is not worth it. Not actually a “luxury service” and half price plans offer the exact same quality as per I could verify with other travelers I met in my trip.
Post sale was ok. Information inaccurate and a lot of details of what was needed or required missed. Not actually what I expected after being charged a very large sum of money.

i am a solo traveller and Machu Travel Peru took very good care of me, ensuring that i achieve all that i wanted, tailored to my preferences. Slight communication issues at the start but all went wonderfully well. 
The entire experience was magical and i was fortunate to have had one tour guide to myself for Machu Picchu leg and he was very knowledgeable and helpful which set the tone for the rest of the tours. All the hotels selected had staff who were wonderfully obliging and professional- and all with lovely hot water facility. In all, i would do it all again in a heartbeat. Thank you Machu Travel Peru for letting me live a dream.

Cannot even describe how amazing our travel to Peru was. Cannot imagine better agency. Frankly, we recommend that agency to everyone. First of all, everything was very easy from the beginning when Maria (Agent ) helped us with the itinerary. But the most important was what was waiting for us in Peru. Absolutely great service. Absolutely professional. Starting with drivers who were always on time. Then during the whole trip, we felt very safe. Everything was organized, places that we visited were fascinating. What a fantastic trip! Loved it all ,❤️ Starting in Sacred Valley, then Machu Pichu, then Cuzco and that order was great for acclimatizing to the altitudes. Our guide Cristian, was amazing and taught us so much history, and about the Peruvian and Andean peoples. We are still on 'cloud 9' a week after returning. Wish we could go again. All the Machu Pichu Travel staff were very helpful with all the details, and we had great drivers everywhere. 🥰👌👍

Everyone was so knowledgeable and their guidance enriched our experience so much. John had such a deep knowledge of Peruvian history — every time we asked him a question, he thoroughly answered it and would provide additional info. Because of our knowledgeable guides, we were really able to appreciate all the historical sites we visited. I would highly recommend booking your trip with them.

We had a great time on this trip. The arrangements done by Machu Travel were very good. The trip went fine without any issues. Good food and accommodation. Amazon jungle was wonderful. We were booked on Eco Amazonia Lodge. They took us on multiple walking, boat tours, unfortunately we did not see much wild life or birds though.
But coordination done by Flor, Sol were perfect. Our Guide Jon at MachuPichu and Victor  on the Amazon Jungle were very knowledgeable  and passionate in showing us around.

If I had to describe our experience with Machu Travel Peru in one word it’s - INCREDIBLE!!! The entire team did an awesome job of communicating and working with us to plan the perfect personalized trip for my family and friends. We toured Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Maras and moray and of course the outstanding Machu Picchu! Right from the pick up from airport on first day up until last day we were amazed by attention to detail provided by the travel company. We would like to extend our thanks to Flor in coordinating and planning our experiences as per our need, Sol from operations as well as special thanks to Danny - our tour guide for making sure we were always on schedule, learnt about the history of Peru and kept kids engaged with his talks and jokes ( he also bought them chocolates post the challenging rainbow mountain hike :) ). Danny was extremely professional, knowledgeable, engaging, informative and fun. Small hiccups with hotel were handled swiftly by the team which was outstanding service. The hotels provided were 4 and 5 star hotels with amazing breakfast spread and included lunches were great too!! We tried some new meats like alpaca and guinea pig and also loved the ceviches :). Machu travels Peru is an amazing company to work with when visiting a new country like Peru!!

We were five friends visited Peru for 8 days. The Arrangements done by Machu Travel were Outstanding. All the staff were superb and very punctual. We enjoyed all places: Amazon Jungle, Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain. Machu Picchu and Rainbow mountains were little challenging because of the climing at high altitude. It would have been lot easier if we stayed 2 days in Cusco or Secered Valley before climbing any of the mountain. I would strongly suggest do not drink regular water or uncooked food.
