About this trip

What makes our trip the best?

Visit a quaint town with just 600 inhabitants and get a taste of Turkish village life.

By staying the night at Pammulake (The Cotton Castle), we can visit at sunset and avoid the massive crowds of day-trippers.

Stay in a charming B&B with cozy cottages and antique furnishings perched on top of a hill overlooking olive groves and vineyards, think Tuscany but Turkish style!

Travel on your own private yacht along the Bosphorus and explore lesser-known intimate estates along the riverfront.

Swim underneath the famous Roman Temple’s ruins in Queen Cleopatra’s antique warm pools that are steeped with history. We visit a few hours before closing in order to avoid crowds and more than likely will have the place to ourselves!

Stay in a unique cave hotel carved into a side of a cliff with some rooms of the hotel dating back to the 5th century.

No trip would be complete to Turkey without drifting above Cappadocia in a hot air balloon and witnessing the serene performance of the whirling dervishes.

Globe Drifters gives new meaning to travel by putting the human experience at the heart of our trips. Let’s face it, there are lots of different options for travel out there. So what sets Globe Drifters’ trips apart from the others? According to our travelers, it’s the group. We keep our group sizes small at 10-12 people maximum per trip. What’s even more, is that at least 90% of everyone in each group are solo travelers. We know from experience that it can be lonely traveling in large groups composed mostly of couples. So not only do

The Iceland trip was wonderful! It was well organized and had the perfect amount of activity and relaxation. For the most part, the people were fantastic. We felt like old friends by the end of the trip and there helping hands anytime you needed it. I’d travel again with Globe Drifters in a HEARTBEAT! Geo-Thermal!!!!

Iceland was a trip I will be talking about for years to come. It was fantastic, I love the group of people and hope I made life long friends. GD did a marvelous job on getting us around the whole island. The waterfalls was challenging and I loved every minute of the trip. Thank You Jodie.

Global Drifters Trip Review of Iceland I found the tour organizer "Jodie" to be very unprofessional, show a lack of respect for the travelers with her and extremely insensitive to the needs of ALL her travelers. If you were part of her clique you may have seen things differently. However as the leader she should not be creating "cliques" as was the case on this trip. SHE SHOULD BE BRINGING EVERYONE TOGETHER TO ENJOY THEMSELVES. -I was never on a tour where I sent the leader questions via text and the leader never answered them. She verbally told me she would talk to me privately about it. Then when she was called on for not following through with her statement - she blocked me from the What's App application she was using to share information about the trip & pictures. This was to be included as written in her own contract. -I was never on a trip where the tour organizer ran off to lead another tour before making sure ALL her travelers on this tour were picked up and taken to the airport to go home without any glitches. Have text to prove -I never met a tour organizer/leader who offers an unannounced excursion (to see volcano erupt) and does not make it available to EVERYONE on the trip. Actually telling me there is no room for me. Then someone dropped out so I could go. She also never followed through to see if the volcano was erupting that afternoon until I questioned her on it. It would have cost each person $35.00 each way ($70-total) to travel to see it not erupting. Have text to prove -I never met a tour leader/organizer who repeatedly made the same mistakes on a trip. Again, when called on it she totally ignored the situation. -I never met a tour leader/organizer who made sure all her needs were met before the people she was escorting who were actually paying for her to be there and go free. -She would occasionally start a conversation with me and as soon as one of her clique members came by she would go off talking to them and leave me standing there. -She also never checked to see if the rooms were OK. I had to change my room twice. Once because the bathroom was never properly cleaned and once because the room smelled so bad I was getting sick and one of the housekeepers told me to immediately go to the front desk and insist they change my room ASAP. She was totally oblivious to this. -It was her place to accommodate me and see I was properly taken care of. Not my place to accommodate her on a trip I was paying for. After all-it was supposed to be MY vacation. --I would not under any circumstances recommend traveling with Globe Drifters or Solo Women Travelers-also her group. There are much more professional groups one can travel with any where in the world. She is not an asset to the industry. I could go into more details however I think you can get the idea of the unfortunate circumstances. This is why they created YELP, my local travel page and other mass media sites. And who knows-maybe you too. M. Shapiro M. Ed

One of the best trips I have ever been on! Jodie did an amazing job with the itinerary and making sure we spent every waking moment enjoying oneself. Iceland is definitely a country that needs someone that has it planned out; Globe Drifters definitely pulled through! Can’t wait to travel with them again !
