      About this trip

Beat the crowds and visit Turkey in tranquility... No one likes to travel to amazing, awe-inspiring places and swim through seas of oblivious tourists who are taking a million selfies. Our trip has been carefully planned to beat the crowds so that you can actually see and enjoy the bucket list sites in Turkey as well as some unique, off-the-beaten-path things:

      • Queen Cleopatra’s ancient pools: Swim underneath the famous Roman temple’s ruins in these warm pools steeped in history just a few hours before closing to avoid crowds and have the place to ourselves!

      • Private Bosphorus River cruise: Sail on your own private yacht and explore lesser-known, intimate estates along the riverfront.

      • Pamukkale (Cotton Castle): Stay the night for a splendid sunset visit and avoid the hordes of day-trippers.

      Day 1
      Istanbul

Welcome to Turkey! Settle into your hotel in Istanbul followed by some free time to walk around and take in the sights, sounds and smells of the former capital of the Ottoman Empire at your leisure. The Old City is chalked full of wondrous Byzantine and Ottoman churches and palaces that will transport you back in time. We suggest dropping by one of the many bazaars and getting lost in the labyrinth of stalls selling spices, fresh produce and homemade Turkish pastries. To fight off jet lag, go for a cup of Turkey’s famous coffee that’ll put an extra pep in your step!

Enlightening & memorable trip! I took away so much knowledge on the culture of Vietnam & Cambodia. The people, food, history, economy and historical sites. Temples in Cambodia were fabulous and worth every minute we spent there, regardless of the Spring heat. Our guides were fabulous and very knowledgeable. Loan in Vietnam was so accommodating and helpful on additional things to do on free time. And Dee taught me so much about the Cambodian family, food in restaurants where young Cambodians are learning to develop their talents and skills, ancient Buddhist temples, and traditional Cambodian dance. I've taken away so many memories. I am so grateful for this trip; it's been on my bucket list since COVID. Accommodations were beyond my expectations! I would highly recommend.

This trip far exceeded my expectations. I expected to be spending the daytime hours. Just waiting for the lights at night. This trip was worth it just for the daytime excursions. The lights were amazing. The company was great and our leader was amazing. Thank you globe drifters. I will be looking for my third trip with you

Noteworthy countries to visit, however, the 4 flights (3 domestic & 1 international) are a bit too much for the duration of this trip e.g., given the distance between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh -- travel by minibus would have been a better option (also, providing a chance to visit a few villages along the way). The local guides knowledge-base were not consistent throughout this trip and definitely could be improved.

A magical trip of a lifetime with a great tour guide, Marvil, and group of people. The activities were so much fun; the Aurora cabin was special & food was really good—even the reindeer! And the best part….we saw the Northern Lights 2 nights! 🥰
