This trip was everything that I’d hoped for and more! Monica and Sandy were wonderful hostesses and guides, both warm, friendly, and helpful. It was nice to have them there with us to answer our questions and join in on the fun. I especially loved the daily excursions. They were all great, but my favorite was the visit to the sheep farm! The delicious food and wine that we had along the way were the icing on the cake.

The entire trip was simply amazing. Our hosts Sandy and Monica led us on some incredible sight seeing and truly memorable experiences(Giancarlo!). Every one of our new-found travel companions and friends was a joy to explore Italy with. The Villa and Citta della Pieve are a wonderful combination of food, sounds, sights and people. Globedrifters set a high bar for fun and professionalism on this trip and we can't wait to take another. We highly recommend traveling with them!

Main itinerary doesn't cover some of the best places like San gimignano, Florence, Orvieto or siena. These you have to go at your own expense on "free days". What I liked from the main itinerary was Val d'orcia and soil to fork experience. Other places in itinerary was just so-so from my experience. There are 4 free days so remember you are paying the tour price for only 5 days tour actually (first and last day were just arrival and departure days). Citta Della pieve which is closest town to villa, does not have easy access to public transport, taxis etc. nearest train station requires getting host help to arrange taxi which when using meter was 30 euros half hour ride (the only reasonable cost of car ride which I explain later). Hiring Drivers to cities like Orvieto or siena or saturnia hot springs charges several hundreds euros which even if you split with other members in the group, will still set you back around 100 euros each. And it means you can dismiss going if no other members want to go with you because it's not affordable. Especially for the ride 30min to one nearby hot spring was offering 80 euros one way which doesn't seem like fare of a taxi meter. Some member asked for help to get taxi between villa to the citta Della pieve town because of rain or because didn't want to walk 1.5km in the dark lonely paths after sunset with little or no lighting between villa and town will be charged 30 or 40 euros for 5-10min ride. Villa has no food or toiletries provided and you need to buy these from a town, eg dinners which are mostly not provided and free days if you don't join optional tours. So do be prepared to spend a fortune on hired car rides in this trip. Otherwise hosts were helpful and it is good group tour to join alone as solo woman since most members consist of solo ladies travellers so it's great to make friends and not feel intimidated traveling alone. Also it was great staying in country villa in Tuscany with great views around.

An amazing experience. The Villa in Cittè Della Pievé was spectacular. All our excursions were interesting , fun, and so enjoyable. But the best part was our hosts, Sandy and Monica. Two of the loveliest women you’d ever want to spend time with. They were so kind, so helpful, so knowledgeable, so understanding, and so much fun! I can’t wait to book another Globe Drifters Slowcation.

Another fabulous Globe Drifters trip ( this was my 8th). Croatia is beautiful, and it was a fun group. The boat and crew were great. The food was amazing. Sandy was a delight as always. And our cruise manager Duje was wonderful.
