DAY1: Pick up from your accommodation at around 8:15 – 09:00 AM. 30 min drive take us to our starting point Ban Xang Hai, also known as Whisky Village. Here you can see the process of making lao lao, the country’s beloved rice whiskey and for some maybe even a early morning sample!
After a short stop at the village, we start trekking in the elephants forests of ancient Laos King. We go though rice fields, river, forests and valleys of mountain. You will be amazed at how green and lush it is on the way. Passing the bamboo forests where elephants live, we reach our destination Manifa Elephant Camp and end our one and half hour trek.
At around 11 AM, we start “MAHOUT EXPERIENCE PROGRAM“.
The 1st day of Mahout program continue until the late afternoon, with an hour lunch break. In the end, we take elephants to their resident bamboo forests. From evening to next morning, we have a free time in the Mekong riverside.
DAY2: We resume Mahout Program in the early morning at 6:30 to bring elephants from forests with Manifa mahout team, then we take elephants to the Mekong river for bathing and interact with them for a while.
At around 10:30 AM, we end the Mahout program and embark a boat trip to Pak Ou Caves on the Mekong River. We see a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well as the mysterious nature on the way. After 30 min, we reach Pak Ou where the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers. Pak Ou Caves are two linked caves crammed with thousand of lacquered Buddha Status of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims. Exploring the caves about 40 min, the boat takes us back to the camp. We enjoy a beautiful buffet style lunch at the restaurant.
This adventure destination package takes you to the final destination Kuang Si Waterfall – you will have time to explore the three layered Kuang Si Waterfall walk the trails of the nature reserve and swim in the refreshing turquoise water pools and visit the bear rescue center. We leave for Luang Prabang in the late afternoon. We make a short visit at Ban Na Uan Hmong villageon the way. We return to the city between 5:30-6:00 PM which is the ideal time to visit Phousi Mountain to see sunset.
