NATURE FRIENDLY 2-DAY ADVENTURE

DAY1: Early morning pickup from 8:15 – 09:00 am, then we leave for Ban Soum Sa nouk. From there we will kayak on the Nam Ou River. We enjoy a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside and see a wonderful nature built limestone cliffs called Pha Aen on the way. 2 hours kayaking take us to the first destination the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers, Pak Ou.

Upon arrival to Pak Ou, we visit the famous Pak Ou Caves – two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims. Exploring the caves about 30 minutes, we start the second course of the kayaking on the Mekong River. We paddle down the Mekong for 30 minutes until we ended our Kayak journey at Manifa Elephant Camp. There we enjoy a beautiful buffet style lunch at the restaurant – overlooking the Mekong River.

At about 1 PM, we start “MAHOUT EXPERIENCE PROGRAM“.

• CONTINUE NURTURING YOUR RELATIONSHIP AND BONDING TIME WITH ELEPHANT
• LEARN HOW TO CARE AND HANDLE ELEPHANTS WITH THE METHOD OF VERBAL CUES (VOICE COMMAND SYSTEM)
• LEARN HOW TO BETTER HANDLE ELEPHANTS THROUGH BODY LANGUAGE AWARENESS AND COMMUNICATION TECHNIQUES
• LEARN HOW TO CORRECTLY RIDE LIKE A MAHOUT ON THE  NECK OF THE ELEPHANT
• GUIDE YOUR ELEPHANT SAFELY AND COMFORTABLY THROUGH THE JUNGLE ON THE PROPERTY
• BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HELPING BRING ELEPHANTS TO CAMP IN THE MORNING (WAKE UP CALL AND WALK RIDE TO WORK
• PRACTICE THE SKILLS LEARNED IN TRAINING PROGRAM

The program temporarily last in the late afternoon. In the end, we take elephants to their resident bamboo forests. From evening to next morning, we have a free time in the Mekong riverside.

• Manifa Elephant Camp serves all breakfast and lunch, dinner. You can enjoy delicious meals at the restaurant – overlooking the Mekong river.
• We also prepares comfortable accommodation (Elephant Camp Lodge Twin Room, AC, Hot Shower | Home stay at the opposite local village across the Mekong River)
• Snacks and Beverages, Souvenirs are available in the restaurant.

DAY2: We resume the Mahout Program in the early morning at 6:30 to bring elephants from forests with Manifa mahout team, then we take elephants to the Mekong river for bathing and interact with them for a while.

At around 10:30 AM, we end the Mahout program and embark a boat trip to Pak Ou Caves on the Mekong River. We see a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well as the mysterious nature on the way. After 30 min, we reach Pak Ou where the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers. Pak Ou Caves are two linked caves crammed with thousand of lacquered Buddha Status of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims. Exploring the caves about 40 min, the boat takes us back to the camp. We enjoy a beautiful buffet style lunch at the restaurant.

This adventure destination package takes you to the final destination Kuang Si Waterfall – you will have time to explore the three layered Kuang Si Waterfall walk the trails of the nature reserve and swim in the refreshing turquoise water pools and visit the bear rescue center. We leave for Luang Prabang in the late afternoon. We make a short visit at Ban Na Uan Hmong villageon the way. We return to the city between 5:30-6:00 PM which is the ideal time to visit Phousi Mountain to see sunset.
