Gorilla safaris in Uganda take you for mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest which is home to the largest mountain gorilla population in the world with more than half of the world’s total. Mgahinga national park is also another destination for a gorilla safari in Uganda but is not as reliable as Bwindi as the gorillas in this park at times migrate to Rwanda.
Gorilla trekking is the major safari activity in places of Bwindi, Mgahinga, Parc de Val cones and Congo, 8 visitors are allowed per gorilla family per day and it is advisable that you book your gorilla permit 3 to 6 months in advance because gorilla permits are offered on first come first serve basis and at times book out quickly.
