Along the way enjoy a stop at the equator for stretching and photography, stand between the marginal lines crossing through the world, visit the souvenir shops then proceed to Mbarara town as you drive through grassland, see long-horned cattle grazing, Proceed to Bwindi as you view the beautiful sceneries of the rolling hills, banana plantations among other exciting attraction.

Accommodation option: Buhoma Community Rest Camp.

Meal plan: lunch and dinner.

Drive time: approximately 8-9 hours drive.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience

After an early breakfast, you meet your guide and drive you to the park headquarters and meet other visitors for a briefing at exactly 7:30 am about the dos and the don'ts when you meet the gorillas in the forest, you are assigned the game rangers and transfer to the starting point to begin the gorilla trek which takes 30minutes to three-quarters of the day and it depends on where the mountain gorillas are.

For bird lovers, this is a great chance to spot several bird species, as well as encounter other primates and mammals namely black and white colobus monkeys and many more. Since there are muddy steep slopes you have to use a walking stick and a minimum level of fitness is required to be successful in your trek.

Upon meeting a gorilla family or the close relatives of humans, you are given one hour to be with the gorillas for photo shots as you listen to the talks from the wardens and rangers, get lunch in the jungle after return to the lodge to celebrate the gorilla experience as you are awarded a gorilla certificate.

Come back to the lodge to relax and in the evening visit the Batwa community as they showcase their interesting true culture. The Batwa are the first people to settle in the Bwindi forest though they were evicted out of the forest to live life like any other human being. This tour takes you to their community to get entertained by their dances, poems, and many more.

Accommodation Option: Buhoma community rest camp

Meal plan: breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale forest national park.

After an early breakfast, you meet your driver-guide for a transfer to Fort Portal town in southern Uganda, expect to get lost in the magical beautiful sceneries, its natural green color, check-in at the hotel, and thereafter do a short city tour and overnight.

Accommodation: Kibale homestay or chimpanzee forest guest house

Meal plan: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland walk.

After the early morning cup of tea, join your driver guide and transfer to Kanyanchu the park’s headquarters to meet other visitors for a briefing about the dos and the dons ts when you meet the chimpanzee. While here you are divided into groups of 6 people and assigned rangers guides who take you through the chimpanzee trek. Your chimpanzee trekking experience can take about an hour to three-quarters of the day because chimpanzees are wild animals and they usually move from one place to another looking for food. However, upon locating them you are allowed to take pictures of the chimpanzees but you have to stay a meter away from them.

It is important to note that Chimpanzee tracking is fairly strenuous, so a minimum level of fitness is required, from chimp tracking you enjoy lunch, relax and later go for a walk in Bigodi swamp which was started by the community to develop the community.
