Hanoi Explorer Morning - 05 am to 09 am: Encounter the authentic Old Quarter 

We start the day with discovering through the capital's oldest neighborhood - with train street, Long Bien bridge and market, and the most atmospheric ancient trading streets. Perfect for those who want to capture the city's iconic images in one evocative morning.

Hanoi Thieves Market - 09 am to 01 pm - Venture into Hanoi’s most photogenic street market: 

"Wander through alleyways packed with odd secondhand goods, vintage electronics, auto parts and other bric a brac, before ending up in a local veterans ping pong club set in an unforgettable location. One for the street and people photographers, and a truly Hanoi experience".


01 pm to 07 pm: An afternoon break at your hotel.


Hanoi By Night - 07 pm to 11 pm - Explore the excitement of Hanoi in low-light 

Enjoy a captivating night photography tour where enthusiasts of all levels can hone their skills and capture the authentic vibe of Hanoi’s street life. We venture into Hanoi’s most famous century-old night market, where you’ll learn techniques for night photography with exciting compositions. We’ll be rubbing shoulders with the locals in the brightly-lit market, traders, couriers and customers barging between the stalls. There’s a great deal to discover, with exotic fruit stalls, workers unloading trucks, and a fish market with some very talkative traders. It all makes for a unique, evocative travel experience, offering a rich variety of images.

Quang Phu Cau Red Incense Village - 07:30 am to 12:30 pm - Document real life at Vietnam’s most colorful craft village 

Only a short trip from Hanoi, the villagers here produce traditional red incense, making for stunning imagery at all stages of the process. We get behind the scenes, mixing with our local friends, photographing their workshops and of course capturing those iconic images of dazzling red incense.


Soybean Farm & Fishtrap Village - 01 pm to 05 pm - Photo shoot & drone photography with the Soya-bean farm and Fishtrap vilage man.

D3 - 8th April

Hanoi to Ninh Binh - Villages along the way

Black Incense Village & Silkworm Village - 06 am to 06 pm

Traveling southeast out of Hanoi, we’ll first stop by a traditional village producing rare black incense. The locals here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we’ll be invited into homes and workshops to photograph all parts of this fascinating process. We then head to scenic salt farms along the coast, capturing images of the workers collecting their day’s harvest in the sunset. Continue on the way to Ninh Binh, we’ll stop by a unique craft village still producing silk from golden silkworms. The village provides numerous opportunities to capture images of the locals producing beautiful silk from worm to thread. We’ll explore the friendly village at leisure, producing visual stories of this vanishing tradition.

Discover soaring mountains, authentic craft villages, and timeless country life 

Get off the tourist trail and experience true lowland life in Ninh Binh province. We'll enjoy some of the area's most iconic activities, including a longboat ride at Tam Coc and a climb to Hang Mua Peak, but our main focus will be craft villages producing stonework and hand-built ceramics, and images of classical rural life.

Half day transport + Hoi An Old Town By Night

In the early morning, after breakfast time to head back on the road to Noi Bai Airport. We'll then catch a flight from Hanoi to Danang, arriving at our resort near Hoi An around late afternoon. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, Hoi An’s history as a trading port dates back to the 15th century, and its traditional architecture and layout have been beautifully-preserved. We settle in our hotel before heading out to enjoy golden hour in the old town. Although rather touristy nowadays, Hoi An still packs plenty of vintage charm, as well as a vast array of top restaurants and bars.

Hoi An RIver Life - 05:30 am to 10:30 am - All aboard this morning on a private river boat for an authentic photography journey into the heart of Hoi An’s spectacular Thu Bon river delta. You will be immersed in Vietnam’s traditional fishing culture, which has been the lifeblood of this region for centuries. Led by our local experts, you’ll capture stunning shots of the fishermen and women plying their trade amidst breathtaking views, away from the crowds of tourists. During the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to explore off the beaten track, allowing you to take in the smallest details and widest panoramas of this picturesque river. You’ll photograph the entire fishing trade process, from catch to market, creating a visual story that tells the tale of real working life along the river.

Danang - Hai Van Pass - Hue

We’ll have an early start this morning to catch the bustling sunrise fish market on Hoi An’s beaches. Fishermen bring in their catch on traditional coracle boats, while their colorful trawlers wait offshore. The market is a hive of activity and a great place for portraits and shots of daily local life. We then head to Danang, before driving into the hills, and over the Hai Van Pass. The road here offers spectacular views of the coastline running both north and south. At Lang Co Lagoon we’ll photograph local oyster farmers before heading to Hue. We’ll spend the late afternoon at Hue for our photoshoot "floating candle offering ceremony from a boat on the Huong River".
