Hotel check-in, then we’re off to a late lunch at the local favorite, Scran & Scallie. Then, the Johnnie Walker Experience at 6pm. Stroll through the city on the way back to the hotel with the option of catching a FRINGE show, for those interested.
Beginning at 10:00 am, experience the Mary King’s Close tour; and a special lunch at The Witchery. We then meet our local guide to visit Edinburgh Castle, and a city walking tour. Pub dinner on The Royal Mile, and then the world-famous Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle.
This morning, we meet our Highland guide and begin our exciting trek north, with fascinating historical stops that include Stirling Castle, the village of Falkland, St. Andrews and more.
Our day begins with exploring the Glen Lyon and Aberfeldy areas (Sir Walter Scott called it the "longest, loneliest and loveliest glen in Scotland"), then shopping & lunch at the House of Bruar. Next, we’re on to Inverness for a walking city tour, and a possible whisky tour, in the late afternoon. After dinner, we can enjoy live local music and ceilidh dancing, for those interested.
Today, we visit the infamous Battlefield of Culloden, the Clava Cairn Stones, and enjoy a special picnic lunch on the banks of Loch Ness. Then, we’re off to experience the Highland Games at Loch Ness, and a tour around the loch. We make our way to the charming harbor village of Plockton for dinner, and spend the night in Balmacara.
Our day begins with a visit to the famous Eilean Donan Castle. Then, we take the bridge over to the Isle of Skye, and enjoy a full day of exploring this magical island. Highlights include the Sligachan old bridge, Portree, the old man of Storr, Kilt Rock and The Quiraing. Tonight, we lodge on the northern peninsula of Skye.
We catch the Mallaig Ferry and cross back to the mainland, then lunch in Arisaig. We then head east, to the shores of Loch Shiel, and visit the Glenfinnan Monument and Viaduct. Next, we are awed as we drive through the mighty Glen Coe valley. Making our way to the port town of Oban, we lodge for the night.
Leaving Oban, we journey toward Edinburgh, with visits to the exquisite Loch Lomand area, Kilchurn Castle, the village of Luss, and Duck Bay. We finish our day with a tour of the remarkable Rosslyn Chapel, and a farewell dinner. Spend the night at an airport hotel for morning departures.
