Since 2013, a group of people from Isla Bastimentos, Panama, Myself included, have been cultivating a dialigue between locals and foreign residents about land right and the need to defend the communuties Ecosystem and Culture. This Island's rich natural and cultural landscape, Bastimentis host the only Afro-Caribbean Village in Panama AKA Old Bank. Due to the quick touristic development of the archipelago of Bicas de Toro - where the Island is located, Tourism, since the 2000's, has been a blessing to the natives of Bastimentos and Bocas Del Toro, providing millions of jobs to the local population. As well as helping to improve transportation, communication and health care systems. For the past couple of years, i have had the opportunity to fall in love with the place and the people. I have had the opportunity to Heal, Connect and Serve. In giving back to the community, My Colleague and i have created a Community Service Platform Empowering young women the same opportunity.
