Join us in Saumur in the heart of the Loire Valley for a hands-on 5 day programme that blends craftsmanship, connection, and that 'je ne sais quoi' French charm.
Under the expert guidance of our traditional upholsterer Jacqui Jackson, you’ll spend your days learning, refining and restoring a piece you genuinely care about, whether it is a chair, an upholstered bench, or that forgotten gem you’ve been meaning to revive for years.
Expect calm, steady learning; a supportive small-group atmosphere; and the satisfying pride of watching your project transform day by day. Whether you are a complete beginner to upholstery or looking to deepen the skills you already have, the learning experience is tailored to your own requirements and needs.
You’ll be based at our quiet city-centre haven, tucked just far enough away from the bustle to exhale and hear the birds, yet close enough to wander to the cafes, shops and historical winding streets. This programme is as much about connection and pleasure as it is about learning new skills. Picture long, easy lunches at a table laid with local produce, where conversation meanders happily and the Crémant de Loire never seems to run out.
If you’re staying with us, your elegant room and the warm welcome add an extra touch of luxury to your creative escape.
Our guests tell us "it’s rewarding, occasionally challenging, and deeply satisfying, an experience that stays with you long after you’ve packed your newly reupholstered treasure into the car".
