About your trip
A rare opportunity to attend this retreat, combining a love of vintage furniture, upholstery workshops and an immersion in our peaceful French oasis in Saumur, in the Loire Valley. This 5 day experience will provide you with hands on, one to one tuition with the expert traditional upholster Jacqui Jackson, improving your skills and confidence for upholstery projects like chairs and benches. And an opportunity to explore French life in Saumur
What's included

Evening meals
To give choice and flexibility after spending the day together. A restaurant guide is available and use of the kitchen as you desire
Fabric
Please bring your own fabric or you can purchase fabric from a stock available with Mandy and Jacqui. Or purchase some vintage fabric at the Chinon Market

Saturday - arrival
Arrival around 5-6pm
Welcome drinks on arrival
4 course meal and getting to know the group
Day 2
Sunday
Spend morning at Chinon Brocante Market
Optional Wine tasting at a local Chateau
Lunch meal at La Maison Trumeau
Discussion and presentation of history of traditional Upholstery by Jacqui Jackson
Walk to Saumur and orientation to the town/restaurants
Day 3
Monday
Upholstery Workshop, stripping chair, webbing and seat padding

How to identify when a repair is needed and top tips on simple repairs you can do at home
Day 4

Wednesday
Upholstery Workshop
Day 5.5
Thursday
Flexible day to cover any remaining elements need completing for your chair before leaving in the afternoon. Depending on progress we can offer leisure time to see local sights, wine tasting or more work on your project
Lunch is offered at 12.30pm
