Experience life and unique activities on the eastern coast of Spain. Base yourself in the beautiful & vibrant city of Valencia and let a local host show you what lies beyond the obvious. Discover the city like a local and explore the region and some of the towns that make it fascinating. Swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean, cook your own woodfire paella at an eco-farm, discover the Roman heritage of Sagunto and cycle to the futuristic complex known as the city of Arts and Sciences. We will also make sure you wander the streets of the quirkiest quarter in town, el Carmen, famous for its street art and we will delve deeper into the secrets of the Mediterranean diet by visiting the picturesque town of Denia, declared a Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO. Are you into wine, why not visit the less known wine region of Requena? Wine has been made there for centuries.
Do all of this while doing the right thing; use public trains and buses, go to locally owned business and integrate by joining a group of maximum 10 people.
Today the adventure begins. Join your local host for an included welcome dinner at a family-run restaurant. Today we might go to Juan's place, where his whole family (grandma to grandson) make sure the family tradition does not get lost. Apart from its unique decor, they make some of the best rice and seafood in the neighbourhood. This place is as local as it gets! Before that though, you will settle into your flat: comfy and well connected are the keywords. After you have freshened up, we will go for a cheeky drink so you can start tasting some of the local wines, craft beers or maybe some "agua de Valencia" (this is all but water). Benvinguts a Valencia!
