We will visit the sister cities of Valparaiso and Viña del Mar, but with totally different characteristics.
Valparaiso is a port city, bohemian and historical. Very well preserved, it is a World Heritage Site, decreed by Unesco in 2003.
Knowing Valpo requires attention and willingness. It is in their hills that they concentrate their multicolored houses, the urban art, the poetry and history. Going through its alleys and stairways, or even using the funicular is almost mandatory to understand this vibrant and welcoming city.
There is La Sebastiana, one of the three houses of Pablo Nerudo, an important Chilean writer.
The port of Valparaiso and the Soto Mayor square are also mandatory stops for Valpo.
After the stop to refill the energies and lunch, we continue to Viña del Mar.
Viña, unlike Valpo, is modern, sophisticated, chic, beautiful beaches, resorts, hotels, luxury condominiums and stuffed gardens. This is why it is also known as garden city.
The flower clock, icon of the city, and that from time to time changes of appearance, is one of the most visited and photographed points of Viña del Mar.
Equally important is the Fonck museum, which in its garden rests an authentic Moai of the Rapa Nui culture.
The beaches are bathed in the cool waters of the Pacific Ocean, it requires an extra dose of motivation for a swim, but the beauty of its blue waters outweighs everything.
The city is also an important nightlife spot in Chile, with many bars, restaurants and nightclubs, a city to live 24 hours a day.
