Do a half day trip to see the Cu Chi tunnels. Fly to Hue in the evening .

Check out the hue citadel, pagoda and the Royal tombs. Pre-arrange for a transfer that evening to Hoi An. Alternatively, fly to Da Nang and do Hue as a day trip. Hue is 3-4 hours drive from Da Nang / Hoi An.

Do a half day trip to My Son holy land. Check out the Hoi An old town in the afternoon.

Fly to Hanoi from Da Nang airport which is 40 min from Hoi An. Check into hotel and go to the street market in the old quarter which is also the backpacking district. See the Ho Chi Mausoleum, one pillored pagoda, presidential palace, Ho chi minh's house, a Taoist monastery, Buddhist pagoda and ride a bicycle rickshaw through the old town. Also see a water puppet show if time permits.

Arrange a transfer to Ha Long Bay which is 4 hours drive away. Arrive at noon. Check in to a boat / small ship and sail into Ha Long bay. Stay on the boat overnight.

Sail the boat back to the mainland around 11am. Transfer to Hanoi airport and fly to Luang Prabang.

Check out the national museum, Buddhist monasteries in the morning. Go to Kuang Si waterfall in the afternoon. Stop at an elephant sanctuary along the way. Spend the afternoon there. Return to Luang Prabang in the evening and climb mount phousi to see the sunset.

Wake up at 5am to see the alms giving ceremony. Hire a boat to check out the park ou caves. This is a half day trip and the boat will stop at a local village along the way. Fly to Vientiane in evening.
