I would highly recommend Aya Healing Retreats to anyone looking for an authentic, loving, and transformative dieta experience. The 11 day master plant dieta is especially great for first timer dieters as Don Miguel actually guides and teaches you throughout the entire process. I felt held and supported throughout my diet and the food was excellent!

Going to Aya Healing Retreats was the best decision I ever made. In decades of spending time in yoga and meditation retreats and intentional communities, I have never been in an atmosphere of such all-pervasive kindness as I found there in the middle of the jungle. Don Miguel, Teo, facilitators Kristina and Lara, and all of the team there were kind, capable, welcoming, and had such depth of practice and commitment. I felt safe and cared for, which allowed me to go fully into my experience with Ayahuasca and the Master Plant Dieta and to clear long-standing, inter-generational traumas and chronic health issues, and to find clarity on big life questions. This journey is not for the faint of heart; it takes courage, commitment, and trust, but if you show up fully it will change your life! Thank you to all the people, land, and plants at Aya Healing Retreats!

This was my favorite ayahuasca retreat that I have ever been to. I love the entire center. The land was stunning, safe and full of master plants! I journeyed with Bobinsana and she was right outside my room. I loved spending time with her. Thanked her with my menses blood and gifted her my chakra bracelet. The Noya Rao tree was a silent and strong protector and I loved journeying to the tree at night to see the glowing leaves. I felt the energy was both divine masculine and divine feminine. I loved the saunas, love baths and coconuts! My tambo was amazing! The bed was very comfortable. The porch and hammock were excellent. I kept a water bowl on my porch and always received lovely visitors of the dogs, kitties and chickens. I even had the handsome rooster hang out on my porch! I was so blessed to share my bed with the white kitty the last two nights of the retreat! It was sweet. The accommodations were top notch. I loved the food, the kitchen staff did an excellent job and they were so friendly! I love the crew, everyone was so kind and worked very well! I loved Reina and her daughter. They were so sweet and kept my tambo clean! Don Miguel is an excellent and loving maestro and shaman. He was so fun to listen to and share ceremony space with. I wish he would have had a one on one session at the end of the retreat to let us know what he thought of our journey. Teo is incredible. The retreat wouldn't have been the same without him. He is very smart and helped me in so many ways! I can't say enough magical things about the facilitators. I felt super safe, respected and loved. I also very much needed Lara's singing every night during ceremony. Ceremony space benefits from a feminine voice as well. The hike to the river was so magical and I was so excited to float down the river and even more excited that we journeyed there more than once. Be aware of chiggers, I was COVERED with them. Me and another guest looked like we got chicken pox! I love how much we learned here: via the plant walk, the history of cuaranderos, learning an icaro and singing it in ceremony! I really hope the surrounding land and trees remain unadulterated. It was sad hearing the adjacent forest being continuously cut down all week. Every day from sun up to sun down the chainsaws would run and you'd hear a huge tree fall :( I was thrilled to get some cuttings of the plants and I safely got them through customs! I also loved our trip to Elizabeth's shop in Iquitos where we got to get powdered forms of plant medicines. The love potion from Don Miguel smells amazing and I used it to bless my bags to safely get through customs with all my illegal goods! I would recommend this place to anyone! Notes: I would have loved it if we were provided blankets during ceremony. I don't even need them washed, just one blanket for every ceremony. But I didn't want to use my bed's blanket because I didn't want any potential purge on it or agua de florida on it. I would have preferred compost toilets near the maloca because the flush toilets were very loud. I would prefer bigger buckets to purge in. luckily I got a bigger bucket every night.

What a magical and safe place to try ayahuasca for the first time. I left the retreat glowing and feeling so much lighter than when I arrived. The staff was so warm, generous and kind. Don Miguel was a delightful human who taught us so much by just being himself, always there for us, giving us his 100%. Cristina, if you get to meet her feel lucky. She is a true angel of a human, so patient and supportive. One of the other pasajeros who has done many retreats at the center said “I trust Cristina with my life”. I couldn’t agree more. She helped me in my most vulnerable moments and she did it with such equanimity and kindness but not only with me, she was there for eveyone who needed her help. Lara was amazing with her icaros and advice. Teo always with a huge smile and generous heart helping with his remedies and massage skills. The ladies in the kitchen prepared nutritious meals every single time. The cleaning ladies Reina and Leia always working hard with the biggest smiles. Like I said I left glowing, lighter and full of gratitude to Don Miguel and the Aya staff. Hasta la próxima!
