Day 1: The Journey Begins
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Riobamba to the trailhead, where you'll meet your guide and fellow trekkers. The hike starts through lush valleys and expansive páramo, gradually gaining altitude as you approach your first campsite. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the rugged Andean mountains and the towering El Altar volcano. By evening, you'll reach camp, set at a high-altitude spot, and relax under the starry Andean sky.

Day 2: Into the Heart of El Altar
On the second day, you'll rise early and set off for Laguna Amarilla, a stunning crater lake at the base of El Altar's jagged peaks. The trail offers magnificent views as you trek through rugged terrain and high-altitude landscapes. Once at the lake, you'll have time to relax, explore the area, and take in the surreal beauty of the turquoise waters surrounded by towering cliffs. After soaking in the magic, head back to camp for a hearty meal and an evening of stories around the fire.

On your final day, begin the descent back toward the trailhead. The path offers more spectacular views as you pass through valleys and forests, with the ever-present backdrop of the Andes. Once you reach the starting point, bid farewell to your guides and fellow trekkers, reflecting on the unforgettable journey and the memories you’ve made.
