Join Dr. Abby Paloma, Sara Auster, and Alex Falk for a winter weekend retreat at the Won Dharma Center in upstate New York. 


WINTERING is an invitation to deeply connect in nature and receive winter’s medicine. This is a weekend to explore contemplative practices held by the warmth of community.

Immerse yourself in nourishing movement, stillness practices, silent meditations, walks in nature, neurographic art exercises and restorative sound baths. Won Dharma Center sits on 426 acres overlooking rolling farmland and the spectacular sunsets over the Catskill Mountains. Enjoy over 7 miles of walking trails, quiet time, and starry filled nights. Won Dharma is conveniently located just 12 minutes from the town of Hudson and the Amtrak Hudson train station. 



The Weekend includes:

  • Movement and restorative practices led by Abby
  • Sound Bath and Meditations in nature led by Sara and Alex
  • Neurographic Art exercise led by Alex
  • Delicious meals made with local ingredients
  • Plenty of free time for stillness and meandering winter hikes in nature

Arrival window is 3-5pm on Friday, February 7th. Dinner will be served at 5:30pm. 

Retreat closes 1pm Sunday, February 9th after lunch

ABOUT ABBY

Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Women’s Health Expert, Movement and Meditation Teacher, Gardener, local food advocate, Dr. Abby Paloma is a compassionate practitioner with over 15 years of experience in the healing arts. Abby meets her patients and students exactly where they are on their path toward health, and integrates acupuncture, hand-crafted herbal formulas and individually curated lifestyle regimens in her practice. Abby offers seasonal classes and retreats throughout the year. Her teaching style reveres stillness and intentional movement as antidotes to our fast-paced and dis-eased modern lifestyles. In 2023, Abby opened Paloma Healing Center in Hudson, NY, where she lives and tends Green Street Community Garden.

ABOUT SARA

Sara Auster is a world-renowned sound therapist, meditation teacher and author. She has spent the past decade introducing sound baths to diverse audiences and unique environments all across the globe. Sara’s transformative experiences and original teaching method have made her a leader in the health and wellness space, bringing deep listening and sound meditation to the mainstream. Sara’s vision is to continue holding space for people from all walks of life to slow down, connect to their senses, and become the architects of their own healing.

ABOUT ALEX

Alex Falk, founder of Atonal Meditation, is a certified sound therapy practitioner, musician, meditation teacher, educator and substance abuse/violence prevention counselor for the New York City Board of Education. Alex skillfully guides participants through sound meditations and mindfulness practices, giving them the tools to access and support states of deep relaxation. He currently works at City-As-School, NYC’s oldest public transfer high school, where he runs a music and arts internship program, teaches mindfulness courses, and offers counseling to help students heal from trauma, explore identity and discover holistic practices to support learning and creativity. 

ACCOMODATIONS and RATES

Quad — Spacious rooms with four beds in the residents hall. Gender Separate. $670
Double — Two twin beds. Perfect for friends and couples. We can also pair you with a roommate, which is a popular option. $860 per person.
Single — Modern rooms in the residents hall with a twin bed, sink and desk. $1,100


Deposit: $350 to hold your room. We highly recommend that you reserve your spot early. Spots are limited and this retreat will fill up quickly. Final Payment Due: February 1st, 2024. All payments are final.

GETTING THERE

• WON Dharma Center is located 15 minutes outside of Hudson, New York.
• By Amtrak: 2 hours from NYC, Hudson stop. Tickets get more expensive closer to the date, and can sell out on weekends.
• By Car: 2.5 hours from NYC or Boston
• 40 minutes from Albany Airport

HELPFUL NOTES

• We’ll connect you with other participants to share a cab from the train station.
• We recommend arriving at the center between 3:30 - 5:00 PM as dinner is at 5:30 PM.
• If you’re driving from NYC, remember to tack on extra time for Friday afternoon traffic, depending on what time you leave.

  • Arrival window between 3:30-5pm
  • Dinner will be served at 5:30pm
  • Opening Circle in the Meditation Hall at 7pm

Saturday, February 8th: 

  • Early riser meditation from 7am
  • Breakfast at 7:30AM
  • Morning program from 9:30am-11:30am 
  • Lunch at 12pm  
  • Afternoon open for rest and activities
  • Afternoon program 3:00-5:00pm 
  • Dinner is served at 5:30pm 
  • Sound Bath at 7pm 

Sunday, February 9th:

  • Early riser meditation 7am
  • Breakfast 7:30am
  • Morning program and closing circle 9:30 - 11:30am
  • Lunch at 12pm 
  • Departure after lunch

CANCELLATION POLICY

All payments are non-refundable. 


The first deposit is due upon registration and the remaining payment is due on January 26th - 2 weeks prior to the retreat start date. If needed, there is affordable trip insurance available for purchase via We Travel.
