Delve into the magical underground world of the Waitomo Caves, where thousands of glowworms illuminate the darkness in a breathtaking natural display. After exploring this unique wonder, take a short drive to the Otorohanga Kiwi House, a sanctuary dedicated to New Zealand’s most iconic and elusive animal—the kiwi. As well as kiwi see many other birds and New Zealand animals including the Tuatara a creature unchanged from the time of the dinosaurs. It’s an unforgettable opportunity to witness this national treasure up close!

Glowworm Magic & Kiwi Encounters

1:00 PM: Depart from the Hamilton Transport Centre and enjoy a scenic drive to the stunning Waitomo Caves. Upon arrival, embark on a guided boat tour through the magical glowworm caves, where you’ll be mesmerized by the enchanting beauty of these tiny luminous creatures.

After this unforgettable experience, we begin our journey home with a quick stop in the charming town of Otorohanga. Here, you’ll have the chance to grab a snack from one of the many local eateries before visiting the iconic Kiwi House.

Witness New Zealand’s national treasure, the kiwi, up close in its naturalistic habitat and hear a fascinating talk from one of the staff who care for this amazing bird. 

We then continue our drive back to the Hamilton Transport Centre, arriving at approximately 5:00 PM with memories to last a lifetime.
