About this trip

A tour of local birding hotspots around the Raleigh area. Some of these are larger, well-known locations but others-- not so much! We will visit a variety of habitat from ponds and marsh to open fields as well as mixed woodland. The terrain will be fairly flat but we will do a good bit of walking so be sure to wear comfortable footwear.

Very helpful. I've always been terrible identifying sparrows. This presentation offered a logical way to think about the similarities and differences. Looking forward to trying it out on some live examples.

Very informative talk, also entertaining. I especially appreciated the comparisons between similar species.

This was a fun way to become familiar with the guides, the participants, and the way Ventures domestic trips are run. Of course the photos of birds were especially appreciated. Certainly makes me want to join a trip - though not in the cold climates!

Great trip! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and organized. He had a plan for each day and stuck to it. He kept us informed of where we were going, what to expect and what to look for. I certainly appreciated that he was a safe driver. Accommodations were very nice and very clean, big points there. Wonderful group of interesting travel mates and I hope to see them again on other trips!
