Today’s adventure is the most challenging — and most rewarding — hike of the trip. We’ll take on the highest peak in the High Tatras accessible from the Slovakian side called Rysy, standing proudly at 2,500 metres. This is a big mountain day, covering 21 km over 9 to 10 hours, with a demanding ascent of 1,154 metres. The trail is steep and rocky in sections, gradually rising through forest, alpine meadows, and rugged high mountain terrain, with incredible views opening up at every turn. Reaching the summit is an unforgettable experience, with breathtaking panoramic views stretching across Slovakia and Poland. This is a tough but non-technical hike, graded 4.5 out of 5 in difficulty — perfect for fit and experienced hikers ready to challenge themselves and feel that true sense of mountain achievement.
