Crafts and cocktails with Casa Flor Designs
This women-run clothing company based out of Antigua was founded by two Americans. Casa Flor Designs works with talented Guatemalan weavers and seamstresses to create made-to-order pieces using environmentally responsible processes, and while paying fair wages to the women they employ.
Starfish Impact
This nonprofit is contributing to the global movement for gender equity and girls’ education by unlocking and maximizing the potential of young women to lead transformational change. They provide access to high-quality education, ongoing support from peers and mentors, financial assistance for higher education and entrepreneurship opportunities, and a diverse knowledge base to ensure that each young woman can realize her full potential and create systemic change.
San Juan Weaving Cooperative
This local coop provides workshops on how to naturally dye fabrics, and traditional methods of weaving with a backstrap or footstrap loom.
WINGS
This non-profit organization provides quality reproductive health education and services to underserved, primarily rural Guatemalan youth, women, and men.
*We are so excited to partner with De la Gente - a sustainable agriculture nonprofit in the
town of San Miguel Escobar - to help give the group a truly local experience while introducing participants to their unique “direct trade” model of coffee farming. In collaboration with DLG, Wanderful women will complete a construction project, enjoy a coffee cupping class and spend a day with one of DLG’s female coffee farmer’s.
