      Thursday April 13-Sunday April 16, 2023

Your journey will begin with a stop in Alexandria VA.  Explore the shops before an included dinner.  You  will go back in time and enjoy dinner in an elegant Colonial Tavern, circa 1792.  The staff is dressed in colonial character and food from the colonial era is served.  A wonderful experience!  Check in to the beautiful Gaylord National Harbor Resort.  The following morning board the motorcoach with a step on guide for a spectacular Spring Time Tour.  Stroll along the Tidal Basin to view the Japanese cherry trees (blossoms pending nature's timing).  Stops will be made on and off the bus but a bit of  walking is involved.  Stop at the Jefferson Memorial, Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr National museum and DC’s newest memorial, The Eisenhower Memorial.  Free time and lunch on your own to explore the Smithsonian Institution’s museums on the National Mall including National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, National Gallery of Art, National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of the American Indian, Freer Gallery of Art, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and more.  Lunch on your own at the museum cafes and local food eateries.  After free time, meet the bus to continue the tour ending at the Air Force Memorial. This evening you will enjoy dinner on your own at the Gaylord Resort or National Harbor with restaurants a plenty.  Or take a free shuttle to the MGM Casino hotel.  The following morning enjoy reserved seats at the Cherry Blossom Parade.  After the parade you will have a guided tour of the United States Capitol!  Finally, you will end the day with a Cherry Blossom dinner cruise sailing down the beautiful Potomac River.  Listen and dance to live music, enjoy fine dining, and take in beautiful, unobstructed views of our nation’s capital. The last day you will tour with a local guide to visit the White House Visitors Center, National WWI Memorial, Black Lives Matter Plaza, Lafayette Square and finally a tram tour of Arlington Cemetery which will include an opportunity to witness the Changing of the Guard.  Lunch on own at Pentagon City Mall before heading home with national treasure memories.

Had a wonderful time. Show was great. Everything was wonderful and went smooth from the bus ride to the restaurant to the theater. It was well planned and went accordingly. Driver did an excellent job getting us there and back. Food was good bus was comfortable seats in theatre were very good. This is a first class company.

The best trip ever! It was well organized and had so many interesting excursions. The accommodations were great, as well as the restaurants. The driver, Eddie, and tour guide, John, made us feel very welcome and safe. I would definitely have more trips with your company.

The participants on the bus were informed 45 minutes out of NYC that there had been a MISPRINT on the starting time of the show "MJ"! We were under the impression that the musical started at 2pm so jaws dropped when were told it was a 1pm start. Vicky informed us that Connolly's Restaurant was phoned and informed of this and they would be ready for us so we could eat and get back to bus by 12:30. Jamal, the bus driver, was doing his best to get us there asap but there was hellacious traffic. We departed the bus for Connelly's at almost 11:30! We ran up the stairs because it would take too long for us to all go up in the small-capacity elevators. The staff at Connelly's was amazing and the food delicious, The servers went over and above to serve all the meals plus dessert & coffee. I ate like a dog at his bowl. Only finished half my lunch and two bites of dessert. Rush, rush, rush. No one could relax and enjoy their meal. Of course, everyone had to use the restrooms which takes time. We were supposed to be back an the bus at 12:30 but did not make it until 12:40. We were dropped off a block from the theater and walked at a rapid pace to get to theater. Got our butts in the seat about 4 minutes before they announced show was starting. Most of us were suffering from agita from all the stress! The musical was fantastic but the misprint Bull Shit put a damper on the day. Spoke with some women from Jackson and this was their first Getaways trip and said it would probably be their last. I told them I had been on many Getaways trips to NYC for plays and they were fantastic. Very disappointing and how is it that this "MISPRINT" was discovered so late? Note: Some disabled people on this trip needed their canes and walkers. Must have been mega stressful for them.

Susan Thank you for providing this feedback. We always appreciate any information that will assist in making our tours the best they can be. I apologize regarding the theater start time mishap. This was definitely a mistake on our end. I contacted the restaurant and asked if they would do their best to expedite the service. I appreciate that they hustled as best they could but it was definitely rushed. I am happy everyone was able to get to the theater in time. This does not normally happen as we usually build in extra time to avoid any rushing. Again, I apologize for the rushed lunch and will do everything I can to avoid this mishap from happening again. I appreciate your kind words to the new folks and look forward to seeing you on another tour. Thank you

In May, I traveled with GS Getaways to Brooklyn, Philadelphia twice and a multi-day tour to Long Island. Each experience was unique, interesting and well run. The excellent step-on guides and docents greatly enhanced the knowledge and appreciation of the sites, and the special meals or restaurants were carefully chosen. It was also fun getting to know so many fellow travelers and reconnecting with a few from previous trips. Thank you, Faith and company! Lois D.

We have been on numerous trips with Faith and they are always adventurous and well planned. This year started with the Kentucky Derby, Land and Cruise thru Alaska and the Mircle of Christmas in Lancaster Pa was a great way to wrap of the year. Can't wait for new adventures.
