      About this trip

One of the nation’s top wine regions has appeared amongst the rivers, lakes and mountains of Central Washington. Bordered by the towering Cascade Mountains on the west and sagebrush covered hills on the east, vineyards and their attendant wineries are rapidly appearing throughout the area. The winemakers of this area have banded together in the belief that the influence of the Cascade Mountains and the broad rivers and lakes makes the region unique!

Join us on an enchanting journey through the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge, a designated National Scenic Area and the largest of its kind in America. Prepare to be captivated by the unparalleled beauty of these vistas, each more stunning than the last, as we traverse diverse and captivating terrain.

Our adventure commences at the renowned Horse Heaven Saloon, a true gem of the region. Following this delightful start, we will indulge in our first wine tasting experience at Four Feathers Estate. This distinguished winery stands as a testament to the art of winemaking, boasting a vertically integrated, family-owned operation. With an impressive 3,500 acres dedicated to cultivating the finest wine grapes and producing custom premium wines for nearly 300 esteemed clients, Four Feathers Estate is a true embodiment of excellence.

As our journey continues, we will find ourselves in Richland, where our charming abode for the next three nights awaits – the Lodge at Columbia Point. Nestled along the serene banks of the Columbia River, this luxurious haven provides the perfect retreat for our stay. Upon arrival, take a moment to settle into your accommodations and unwind before we embark on an exquisite culinary experience at Tagaris Winery. Here, you'll revel in the harmonious fusion of exceptional wines and delectable Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, a truly unforgettable pairing that promises to delight your senses.

A wonderful trip with an amazing tour guide in Chris. He is attentive to detail and watches out for everyone's welfare. Loved the excursions on land, boat, and train.

It was a wonderful trip. Enjoyed the boat ride and the young galls helping to keep us happy. Joan did a great job.

The p/u arranged by Oregon West was early so I had to wait for the tour bus for an hour - no food or drink offered on the way up to Seattle on the only rest stop, which only had restrooms (and the sinks didn't work). Most days we had to have our bags packed by 7:15-7:30 - too hectic. Two of the hotels I got no sleep in due to noise. Tour guide was poorly informed and confused us about p/u points. Food sub-par. Two long days on a boat cruising for wildlife, which we only saw 2 glimpses of. People returning late to the boat from San Juan Island caused entire to run an hour late so another dinner at 8:00 pm. I'd never travel with this company again.
