"Within my body are all the sacred places of the world, and the most profound pilgrimage that I can ever make is within my own body." -Saraha, Buddhist Saint
Join Adriane Wolf & Jyl Kutsche for a weeklong yoga retreat on the shores of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
This is an invitation to those who are ready to break through to a new experience of living in the soul and the heart. This experience involves the integration of the Earth, Heart and the Heavens within our physical bodies. This truly is an initiation into the Mystical Heart. Weaving Heaven and Earth is an opportunity to release old programs, epigenetic blueprints and trauma held in the body; and deeply rest and restore.
Using practices rooted in Yoga and Shamanism, and held by the sacred energies of Guatemala's Lake Atitlan, this journey will be an expansive exploration of our own multidimensionality and the ever changing realities that are shifting around us. It is an opportunity to discover the most sacred landscapes and doorways within our bodies. It is an invitation to fully awaken our kundalini and embody the mystical energy of the heart.
Both yogis and shamans view the world as a physical world. The practices we will be exploring in this retreat are aimed to bring a direct awareness to the energy moving through our bodies, known as prana in the yogic system; and also to strengthen the nervous system and balance the glandular system. From this awareness we will experience a deeper visceral understanding of the potential of each asana...awakening to the sacred geometry within each pose...and the mandala which IS each and everyone one of us.
Daily Activities will include the following:
Kundalini Yoga – Prajna Yoga – Somatic Movement
Merkaba Activation - Pranayama – Shamanic Journeying
Guided & Silent Meditation - Mantra and Sound Healing
Self Care - Deep Connection With Gaia - Ceremony & Ritual
Jyl is a Senior Instructor of Prajna Yoga and her primary influence continues to come from Tias & Surya Little. She has received both her 200 hr & 500 hr certifications through them, and assists them regularly around the country. Currently dividing her time between the United States and Peru, Jyl leads workshops and ceremonies around the world. She brings an interdisciplinary approach to her teaching, combining form & flow with therapeutic somatic movement in the Vinyasa, Hatha, and Therapeutic classes & workshops she leads. She was also the Lead Instructor of the 200 Hour Teacher Training at Dallas Yoga Center, where she was able to continue to expand her love for this transformative practice by sharing it with those hungry to go deeper.
In Sanskrit the word Prajna means 'deep wisdom or insight'. Tias describes Prajna Yoga as a 'style-less style', where the yoga should fit the student, and not the other way around. A firm believer in yoga being a practice for everyone and anyone, Jyl co-founded the Austin-based non profit organization, Community Yoga Austin, in 2010 and is passionate about modifying the practice of yoga so that anyone interested may have the opportunity to experience it's healing benefits. She has brought yoga to prisons, schools, veterans, recovery centers, shelters & senior centers; and has trained with Street Yoga, Little Flower Yoga, Bent on Learning, M.D. Anderson Integrative Medicine & The Prison Yoga Project.
She is a Licensed Massage Therapist who is currently studying Zen Shiatsu with Yoshi Nakano and Visionary Craniosacral Therapy with Hugh Milne. She is passionate about using plants and food as medicine. And as an extension to Yoga. The food/plant nearest and dearest to her heart is her beloved Cacao. Her exploration of cacao as plant medicine has turned a lifetime chocolate addiction into a profound part of her life's journey & she shares Sacred Cacao Ceremonies on a regular basis. www.jylmarieyoga.com
