      About this trip

Escape the cold and join Blue Planet for a long weekend of diving in Cozumel! One of the most popular dive destinations in the Caribbean, Cozumel offers big reefs, warm water, great viz and a guaranteed good time. We’ll be diving with Golden Diver Award recipient Sergio Sandoval and his fantastic crew.

      Cozumel

Cozumel is one of the greatest dive destinations on the planet. With world-class drift diving and abundant marine life, beginners and advanced divers alike will delight in the underwater exploration with our expert dive guide. The choice of activities are boundless in Cozumel: golden beaches, turquoise waters, friendly people, festivals, scattered Mayan ruins, great restaurants, a myriad of stores, diving, golfing, romance, and a whole new world where everybody has a place under the sun. But the diving takes center stage...

      The Diving

Most dive sites are found within the boundaries of the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, which protects 29,000 acres of the Meso-American reef system – the second largest barrier reef system in the world. Created in 1996, the park is home to some 26 types of corals with more than 100 subspecies and more than 500 fish species, including the endemic splendid toadfish. Divers often encounter sea turtles, sharks, moray eels and other critters while drift diving on the currents Cozumel is famous for.

      Hotel Flamingo

Hotel Flamingo is a unique boutique property located in the cultural center of Cozumel. It is just steps from the water front, dining and shopping attractions of the town square, yet quietly hidden away. Their open-air restaurant serves breakfast on site, while the full bar is perfect for kicking back in the evenings.

      Travel

Round-trip flights to Cozumel are around $300 and go up from there. You should plan to arrive at Hotel Flamingo in Cozumel by 7 PM on April 21st. We will need a short amount of time to get checked in and situated at the hotel. After dinner we will have an orientation by one of the dive crew so we are prepared for the next day's dives. When leaving, choose any flight that leaves after 1 PM on the 25th. Call the shop for details or questions on flights.

      Cancellation Policy

Upon cancellation of a reservation for any reason, the refund of the deposit and payments made or due will be contingent upon Blue Planet reselling the participant's reservation. Any refund may also be subject to a cancellation fee and payment of any non-refundable fees imposed by the tour company, dive operator or any other contractor associated with the trip.

Dive accident insurance is required for all divers on this trip. We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your vacation investment. Contact us if you need more information.

Amazing second trip with Blue Planet Scuba! Bonaire is a unique adventure, whether we dove off the boats, or from the shore. I hope to do it again. As someone who'd been certified in scuba for about a year, and had done only a few dives at Lake Phoenix over the summer, this was a big step up in terms of experience. Andrea and Travis were both excellent instructors. I took the Advanced Opened Water course on the trip, and while that was good, I feel like what really advanced my skills was the variety of challenging experiences Bonaire had to offer, and the generally excellent divers I had the opportunity to team up with both on training dives and when left to our own devices, rolling around the desert in our little Taliban trucks. The East Coast Dives excursion was amazing, and challenged my bravery as much as much as my dive skills. While we didn't get to witness coral spawning due to a jellyfish hazard, the bioluminescent ostracod dive was absolutely magical, and the night dives in general were wonderful. All in all, a wonderful learning opportunity for me, and a challenging adventure. Thank you for the opportunity.

Second trip with Blue Planet. Wonderful time again. Really wonderful group of people, and the dive shop where we went was equally great. Well organized both on the Blue Planet side and at the dive resort itself. Little Cayman is absolutely beautiful. Would go on another trip there again in the future.
