CCHS Hiking Club will be taking a trip to New River Gorge, WV May 2026! Lots of hiking, exploring, and white water rafting!

A nonrefundable deposit of $150 is required to secure a spot on the trip.  All payments will be made on the WeTravel platform.

Depart from Cedar Creek High School

Head to Buc-ees!!!!!

8hrs drive to New River Gorge, WV

Arrive/check in at Adventures on the Gorge, change into hiking outfit

Hike Endless Wall Trail (2.4 miles)

Kaymoor Mine (1.6 miles - difficult), Long Point Trail (3 miles), Visitor Center and Canyon Rim Overlook (0.4 miles)

Summersville Lake, have lunch at lake

• Long Point Trail (4 miles lake hike)

Dinner at resort

Babcock State Park

• Skyline, Rocky, and Narrow Gauge Loop (4.4 miles moderate)

• Boley Lake Hike (1.2 miles easy)

Sandstone Falls (1 mile - easy)

Lunch either at Sandstone Falls or Grandview Rim Trail

Grandview Rim Trail (3.1 miles - moderate)

Castle Rock (1.1 miles - difficult)

Have dinner at resort

White water rafting

Keeney’s Creek and Conveyor Trail (3.3 miles - moderate)

Choose your own adventure back at campground (mountain biking, kayaking, etc.)

Lunch and dinner at resort

Drive back home
