Amazing experience swimming next to these massive creatures. Nice and knowledgeable guide and captain, well organized, and with some tasty ceviche at the end. Highly recommended.

Professional organization, genuinely great, fun crew. Keep in mind it takes some time to the area where the whale sharks are. Amazing they were able to find one and what a special experience to see this regal animal life. You might see flamingos, dolphins along the way (we did not see mantas which they sometimes encounter too). The big downside is that there may be - like in our case - 20+ boats all vying for a glimpse of the whale sharks; it is mostly well organised with all boats taking turns and a few people efficiently jumping in but be aware there is a lot of time in between someone (2 or 4 people) on the boat jumping in for a quick swim and going to the back of the queue again. Having said this, I would still highly recommend it. The atmosphere is relaxed, it is so worth seeing these incredible creatures and who know it is just you and a few boats. The only recommendation for the team would be to make the urgency a bit more clearer when departing. It takes time to get there and likely to find a whale sharks (particularly early in the season)? Would love to come again and would book through VIP again

Cool trip. We saw a lot of whales. Pretty big ones. And also a manta ray. And on the way back we had some excellent cheviche.

There was some confusion in the days before the trip with getting a wrong email that my trip for two was canceled and then I was texted to say ignore it. The day before I realized that I hadn’t been refunded an overpayment from weeks before and then when I asked for it my trip was actually canceled which led to a series of texts and a rebooking. I was solo and meeting the driver at 5 am so it was a little sketchy when I was on time in the dark and my driver was not. When we arrived to the meeting place near Isla Mujeres two hours later we waited about 45 minutes until everything was ready for us to take our trip. My guide informed us that we could wear NO sunscreen at all despite an email saying the reef friendly kind was fine. I am pretty pale this early in summer so was a bit nervous to be out all day without (much) sunscreen. I watched as a family of three going on a different boat applied sunscreen. Our guide told us that a marine biologist informed her that he watched a sea turtle develop skin cancer within 30 minutes of being exposed to sunscreen on a similar snorkeling trip. Anyway, that was strange and unexpected (and I’m glad I had already applied before leaving hotel tbh) Our boat broke down about an hour in- a problem with the engine but the crew was able to fix it after 15 min. We found the whale sharks and that part was glorious. I paid $55 extra for the GoPro video which still hasn’t arrived. It was promised within 72 hours (it’s now been 9 days since the trip) and I’m hoping I see this video in my inbox soon. They had a hurricane recently so I’m being patient but two email inquiries have been ignored. I would go on this trip again but am not sure about this outfit.
