About this trip

Retreat Overview

Imagine a week in the Caribbean where the biggest decision you make is whether to read by the pool or take a walk along the coast. Where dinner is beautiful and plant-based and unhurried. Where the people around the table are curious, engaged, and genuinely interesting. And where, almost without noticing, you leave knowing yourself a little better than when you arrived.

We invite you to join us for a week of turning inward so that your truest self can come outward. St. Croix grounds you in a lush, warm place with slow mornings and salt air in the green hush where the rainforest meets the sea. Let the island hold you as you find ease to carry into everyday life and in relationship with others. This journey begins inward: on the mat, in movement, through breath and stillness, in relationship with self, in the scraps of a journal  —  settling into what wants to grow.

$300 Founding Early Bird through October 1st or first six registrations.

Use Discount Code "GROW300" at checkout. The savings are applied to your final payment.

What to Expect

During this weeklong retreat, the daily rhythm will unfold with mornings of still and moving meditation in an open space, afternoons relaxing by the water at the beach or pool, rounded off with a daily yoga practice, and evenings with a mix of casual, intentional conversation and music. All shared meals are organic, plant-based, and prepared on site. You will be invited to spend one afternoon on a remote beach and another in the town of Christiansted. The goal is to find the island pace in your own way.

The Daily Flow: Practice, Reflection & Connection

Every part of the retreat is an invitation, not an obligation; all activities are optional, and you are always encouraged to honor what you need in the moment.

Morning Meditation & Journaling

Each day offers guided meditation, creating space to settle the nervous system and arrive fully in the present moment. Throughout the week, participants will experience a variety of meditation practices including breath awareness, guided meditation, mantra, walking meditation, and loving-kindness (metta). There are multiple pathways into stillness and self-awareness.

Late Morning Practice

Late mornings are devoted to exploring the day's theme through experiential practices centered on voice, communication, and self-awareness. These sessions offer reflective exercises that invite participants to notice, practice, and gently experiment with new ways of listening and speaking.

Throughout the week, participants explore the principles of observation before interpretation, identifying feelings and needs, speaking with authenticity, and listening with presence and compassion.

Free Time

Afternoons intentionally include generous periods of unstructured time. Whether resting in a hammock, walking the beach, swimming in the sea, reading, coloring, journaling, or simply doing nothing at all, participants are encouraged to honor what their bodies and hearts most need.

This spaciousness is an essential part of the retreat, allowing insights to settle naturally rather than rushing from one activity to the next.

Late Afternoon Yoga Practice

Each afternoon concludes with a nourishing yoga practice designed to support the emotional rhythm of the day. Practices include slow flow, yin, and restorative yoga, thoughtfully sequenced to complement the retreat experience and regulate the nervous system.

Rather than striving or exertion, these sessions invite participants to soften, breathe, and reconnect with themselves through mindful movement.

All yoga practices are accessible to a wide range of experience levels, and modifications are offered throughout.

Evening Gathering

Evenings provide an opportunity to gather in community and gently integrate the day's theme and experiences with simple teachings. Building on the practices explored earlier in the day, we come together through reflective conversation, deep listening, and shared experience—sometimes in pairs or small groups and sometimes as a full circle. These gatherings offer a chance to let the day's insights settle, to hear and be heard, and to experience what can emerge when we bring greater presence and intention into relationship.

As throughout the retreat, sharing is always an invitation. You are welcome to participate in whatever way feels right for you.

Evenings at Feather Leaf

From there, follow the evening wherever it takes you. Some evenings may naturally unfold into conversation under the stars, music on the porch, a quiet walk, a spontaneous dance party, or simply early rest.

As with every aspect of the retreat, participation is always an invitation, never an obligation.

Facilitators

Amy Dillard

Amy came to yoga the way she came to everything that matters to her - through language and the body's relationship to power. She has spent her career studying legal rhetoric - how we speak, who gets heard, and what the body says before a word gets uttered. She is completing 500 hours of yoga teacher training with Matece Skow where the questions that animated her in the classroom and courtroom - about voice, presence, and finding your ground - have found a new home on the mat.

Lisa-Marie Napoli
Lisa-Marie found her way to yoga almost 40 years ago as a source of refuge and inner discovery. Her career focuses on conflict management, education, and relationship building. She supports others in the art of holding space for better discourse to take root. She is completing 500 hours of yoga teacher training with Matece Skow and brings to the mat the same attention she brings to hard conversation: a belief that presence, awareness, and curiosity let a truer voice come forward for mutual understanding.

Matece Skow

Matece came to yoga more than 25 years ago as a way of listening inward and learning to live with greater honesty, courage, and care. As the founder of Nourishing Heart Yoga, she has spent her career creating spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and become curious about what is ready to emerge. A teacher, massage therapist, and international retreat leader, Matece brings an embodied understanding of how the nervous system, the stories we carry, and the wisdom of the heart shape our capacity for growth. She approaches the mat as a place to listen deeply to the body, to one another, and to what wants to grow.
