Tobermory Harbour

Itinerary

We will leave Tobermory harbour at 11am on this trip and head out to the North of the island. We should encounter our first pair of White Tailed Eagles at this point and will hopefully get photo opportunities with a variety of backgrounds. 200mm and 4-600mm would work here. We will then head across the Sound going through the Common Dolphin hunting grounds (you never know when they will display and even use the boats wake) to Ardnamurchan and the second pair. These will be likely more distant from the boat, so either a longer lens or a context shot. Following time here, we will head into Loch Sunart to a really special pair with some fabulous colours before returning to Tobermory. We average about 15 dives on the boat for this trip while still sticking to our strict conservation protocol.

Highlights

The big highlight for a photographer is the number of dives from the birds, unringed birds (in case you have fussy competition judges) and the variety of backgrounds that allow your creative juices to flow.
